The Real-Life Aladdin Cafe in Egypt: Farsha Cafe
My Honest Review of Sharm El Sheikh's Farsha Cafe
ⓒ eodiga_yeong
While planning my trip to Egypt,
there was one spot I constantly saw all over my social media feeds.
It was none other than the place dubbed the real-life Aladdin cafe—
the famous Farsha Cafe located near Sharm El Sheikh.
🪔
Even back when I was in Korea,
my friends kept telling me I absolutely had to visit this place if I went to Egypt.
They would show me photos of it on Instagram, so
I always knew that once I set foot in Egypt,
this was one spot I had to experience at least once.
Luckily, while I was staying in Dahab,
I got to visit with an amazing group of travel buddies.
We managed to snag the best seats, took tons of amazing photos,
and now I'm here to share my full review!
01. How to Get to Farsha Cafe & Location
📍 Farsha Cafe
While many people visit Farsha Cafe from Dahab,
it is actually located closer to Sharm El Sheikh Airport.
Because of this, most travelers gather a group of people heading there
and rent a private van to travel together.

Our meeting spot was a place you can't miss if you're in Dahab—
the famous German Bakery, where we all met up and headed out.
The drive from Dahab to Farsha Cafe took about an hour,
and after taking a quick power nap along the way,
we had arrived!
02. The Entrance of Farsha Cafe

Even though we arrived in the bright afternoon
before the sun had fully set,
the vibe right at the entrance was already incredibly unique.

In typical Egyptian fashion,
there was a security metal detector at the entrance.
But even when it beeped, they just let everyone right through,
so I'm still not quite sure what they were actually checking for! haha.
03. The Magical Interior Atmosphere

Right from the start, vintage furniture and
traditional Egyptian ornaments created an atmosphere
that made it feel just like stepping onto a movie set.

As we walked down, the gorgeous color of the Red Sea came into view—
it was beautiful enough to make me realize why Dahab is called the 'graveyard of travelers' (because you never want to leave!).

With the deep blue Red Sea as a backdrop,
the vintage furniture and rustic decorations gathered together
created a perfect contrast with the water,
giving off an incredibly unique and charming vibe.

The absolute best spots are where you can see this Farsha logo head-on.
And guess what? We managed to snag a table
right in front of this amazing view!
04. The Farsha Cafe Menu

Once you take a seat,
This is what their incredibly unique menu looks like!
Even the menu was designed to fit the cafe's overall theme,
which made ordering so much fun.

They also serve fresh fruit as a welcome treat.
But since my friends and I had been scammed a few times in Egypt already,
everyone immediately got suspicious, asking, "Wait, is this actually free?"
We instantly went on high alert... but luckily, it was completely free! 😂

Maybe because Farsha Cafe attracts so many global travelers,
but they actually serve alcohol here!
My friend ordered a cold Stella beer,
while I opted for a refreshing watermelon juice.
Honestly, Egyptian fruit juices
never seem to disappoint.
This watermelon juice was incredibly sweet and delicious! 👍
05. The Highlight of Farsha Cafe (The Lighting Ceremony)

While chatting away with my friends
and waiting for the sunset,
the staff started digging into the sand
to place and light up small candles for us.
And a few moments later,
the staff began clapping in unison, turning up the music,
and the cafe's lights started flickering on one by one.
First, soft red lights illuminated the space,
and the exact moment the entire place lit up,
I instantly understood why people call this place
the "real-life Aladdin cafe."
The atmosphere was absolutely magical.
🥺

Once all the lights are glowing,
you feel as if you've been transported straight into
the world of Aladdin.

From our prime-spot seats,
we had a perfect view of the lighting ceremony
right alongside the iconic Farsha Cafe logo.

My friend and I made sure to take some photos together in front of Farsha Cafe.

As the sun went down, the crowd grew and
the energy turned incredibly lively and upbeat.
My friend and I lay back on those cozy sofa beds and stargazed together—
it's a memory I’ll cherish forever.

Sadly, the departure time for our shared van back to Dahab was approaching,
so we had to wrap up our magical evening and head out
of Farsha Cafe to head back.

Leaving was bittersweet, but I don't think I'll ever forget that lighting ceremony.

The entrance to Farsha looked completely different now, glowing in a whole new light!
