Your Budget-Friendly All-Inclusive Resort in Cancun, Mexico
Emporio Cancun: Value-Packed Cancun Hotel
Words & Photos by Travel Sun
On a recent trip to Mexico with my friend, we wanted to splurge a little on our final stay in Cancun. However, Cancun's reputation for being quite pricey meant that most all-inclusive resorts were far beyond our budget.
Since this wasn't a honeymoon, and just a fun trip with a friend, spending upwards of ~$448 - ~$512 felt excessive. That's when we stumbled upon Emporio Cancun, a true gem for budget-conscious travelers.
They offered options beyond the all-inclusive package, and we found a breakfast-included room for around ~$128. It was an instant booking for our last hotel in Mexico, and I'm excited to share our experience!

Emporio Cancun: Your Affordable All-Inclusive Option
I booked our stay on Agoda, opting for a double room with breakfast rather than the all-inclusive. Due to fluctuating exchange rates and booking last-minute, we paid around ~$243.
However, if you book in advance, you can often find breakfast-included rooms for as low as ~$128, and even the all-inclusive package for around ~$256. It's truly one of Cancun's best value accommodations!

As Emporio Cancun is a budget-friendly hotel, they don't offer a shuttle service. We took the R-1 bus from Cancun Airport, which was super affordable at just 12 pesos one way.
However, dragging our luggage from the bus stop to the hotel was a bit of a trek. If you have a lot of bags, I'd definitely recommend taking a taxi for a smoother arrival.

There's a slight uphill walk to reach the entrance, so keep an eye out for the blue Emporio sign!

After checking in, grab a map – it's super helpful for navigating the resort and finding your room!
Deluxe Double Room

After staying in an Airbnb in Playa del Carmen, stepping into Emporio Cancun felt wonderfully refreshing and clean. It's amazing what a hotel can do!
Even though we didn't specifically book a sea view, our balcony offered a fantastic panorama of the pool and ocean – a delightful surprise!
I also loved that the floors weren't carpeted, which always feels cleaner. For a Cancun hotel that can be booked for around ~$128, the room was surprisingly spacious and spotless. We were completely satisfied!

The bedding was pristine, and with two double beds, my friend and I each had plenty of space, which was perfect for a comfortable stay.

Our room came equipped with a safe, an iron, hangers, and, of course, a refrigerator – all the essentials for a comfortable stay!

Right next to the balcony was a vanity area with a mirror, perfect for getting ready before heading out to explore.

The bathroom was also quite spacious and brightly lit, which was a huge plus.

Even for a one-night stay, we had plenty of towels and a good selection of amenities. I wasn't sure if the toothpaste was complimentary, so I skipped it, but the lotion was free to use. Fair warning, it's not the most absorbent, so you might prefer your own!

The bathroom was also cleverly divided into two sections, separating the shower from the toilet area. Having such a spacious bathroom in a budget-friendly Cancun hotel was a major win!

And here's the view from our Deluxe Double Room balcony! You can see the main pool and the hotel buildings, all in one glance.

Even though we didn't specifically choose a sea view, we could still catch glimpses of Cancun's stunning turquoise Caribbean waters to the right!
Seeing that incredible ocean immediately made us want to dive in, so we quickly changed into our swimsuits and headed straight for the beach!

Even the view from a standard room is absolutely incredible, isn't it? The hotel and pool looked equally beautiful at night, creating a magical ambiance.
Emporio Cancun Amenities
Emporio Cancun offers a range of fantastic amenities, including a fitness center, multiple swimming pools, and a private beachfront.

Most hotels located in the Cancun Hotel Zone boast private beaches, allowing guests exclusive access to the stunning shoreline. Emporio Cancun, despite being a value all-inclusive option, also offers a fantastic private beach, perfect for enjoying the ocean.
The waves in Cancun can be quite strong, making it less ideal for calm swimming but absolutely perfect for playing in the surf, like a natural wave pool! We had a blast enjoying the powerful waves.
After a swim, lounging on a beach chair and soaking up the sun truly feels like paradise.

Even as a budget-friendly resort, Emporio Cancun impressed us with its numerous swimming pools.
There's a spacious main pool, and...

...a pool with a view of the private beach. That round pool you see? It felt like a warm spa, perfect for unwinding when the air got a little chilly.
Though not pictured, there was also a swim-up bar pool, but it wasn't operating when we visited, likely due to it being winter and cooler temperatures.

With even a dedicated kids' pool, Emporio Cancun truly is a complete, budget-friendly Cancun hotel.
Spending time between the hotel's private beach and the various pools makes the hours just melt away!
Room Service and Breakfast

While Emporio Cancun offers an all-inclusive option, we didn't feel the need for it since we weren't on a honeymoon. So, we opted for the breakfast-only plan.
There's a 7-Eleven nearby, which was handy for grabbing drinks and snacks. It was a fun surprise to see Kimchi Ramen in Cancun! We also picked up some Jack Daniel's Honey, which is quite popular. If you enjoy a sweet, smooth drink, definitely give it a try!

For dinner, we decided to order room service. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for a hotel, so we indulged in steak and pasta.
The total for both was around ~$32. The portions were generous, though the pasta was just okay. The steak, however, was delicious – I definitely recommend the steak if you're ordering room service!

The next morning, we headed down for our included breakfast, and the view of the Cancun ocean was absolutely breathtaking!
It was truly incredibly beautiful.

Breakfast was served with a stunning view of the Caribbean Sea, so we took our time, savoring the scenery as we ate.

There were outdoor seating options available, but no one was really using them.

For a value hotel, the breakfast spread was quite diverse, and of course, nachos were a staple – they're everywhere in Mexico!
Mexican hotels often offer these unique boxed cereals, which was a fun little detail. I wanted to try them, but there was too much other delicious food to get through!
Our last hotel in Mexico was truly a fantastic experience!
Emporio Cancun Resort offered incredible value, with excellent service and hotel conditions that exceeded our expectations.
If you're heading to Cancun for a honeymoon but plan on lots of tours and won't spend all your time at the resort, making an expensive all-inclusive feel like overkill, or if you simply want to experience an all-inclusive without the hefty price tag, Emporio Cancun is a fantastic choice. It's also perfect for those seeking a budget-friendly hotel experience with all the benefits of an all-inclusive.

You can take the R-1 bus from Cancun Airport for 12 pesos one way. However, there is a slight uphill walk from the bus stop to the hotel, so if you have a lot of luggage, it is recommended to take a taxi.
Ordering both steak and pasta costs ~$32, which is quite affordable for a hotel. The pasta might be a bit disappointing in taste, so we highly recommend the steak, which is delicious and comes in a generous portion.
Even if you don't specifically choose an ocean view, you can see the main pool and buildings at a glance from the balcony. You can also see the Cancun ocean to the right, making for an excellent view.
There is a private beach right in front of the hotel, making it great for swimming. However, the waves in the Cancun ocean are stronger than you might expect, so we recommend enjoying it like a wave pool rather than for leisurely swimming.
If you book in advance, you can reserve a room with breakfast starting from ~$128, and an all-inclusive room starting from ~$256. If you book at the last minute the day before your visit, the room with breakfast can go up to ~$243, so booking in advance is recommended.
