Planning a romantic dinner at TRS Coral Cancun? Our review of La Boheme, the resort's elegant French restaurant, details the exquisite ambiance and how to craft your perfect multi-course meal.
We stayed 4 nights at TRS Coral, and since the resort is so massive, we made reservations at three different dinner restaurants.
Today, I'm excited to share our review of La Boheme, the TRS Coral French restaurant with an absolutely incredible atmosphere.

LA BOHEME at TRS Coral: Location & Ambiance

Finding La Boheme was a breeze. It's conveniently located just to the left as you exit the main lobby after checking in.
The exterior of the building instantly radiates sophistication and luxury.
Honestly, I haven't had much experience with French cuisine and I'm not typically a huge fan of Western dishes, so I almost skipped it. However, the options for dinner reservations at the resort are somewhat limited, so we decided to book it anyway.
In hindsight, it was absolutely the right choice to go!

Why? Because the ambiance is simply breathtaking! Plus, you get to essentially design your own multi-course meal, which I'll explain more about below 👇
We were fortunate enough to get a window seat, allowing us to enjoy a meal with a beautiful view of the outside before sunset. It did get dark quickly, but it was still lovely.

We had a 6:30 PM reservation, and surprisingly, it wasn't very crowded.
Even though the resort itself was bustling with guests (perhaps due to the holiday season), it seemed like most Westerners tend to dine a bit later in the evening.
This meant we could enjoy a more relaxed and unhurried meal.
TRS Coral Cancun All-Inclusive Resort: Restaurant Dress Code

When we needed to dress up for more formal occasions, we typically wore outfits similar to what you see above. Since we also had some events in New York that required smart attire, I highly recommend packing one or two dressier outfits.
From other reviews, it seems the main rule is just to avoid showing up in flip-flops or overly casual beachwear.
Our Dinner Review of La Boheme at TRS Coral
One of the best reasons to visit a dinner restaurant at an all-inclusive resort is the opportunity to enjoy a multi-course meal. It's not a set menu, but rather a course you design yourself!
Unlike Korean dining, where dishes are often shared, French cuisine is typically served in distinct courses: appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. Normally, ordering a full course meal can be quite pricey, but since it's all-inclusive, you can order everything from start to finish to create your own bespoke dining experience.

Even the dinnerware adds to the elegant and beautiful ambiance, doesn't it?
Similar to El Gaucho, the menu here was accessible via a QR code. While the descriptions were in English, the French names for the dishes made ordering a bit of a challenge at times! 🤣
There were tabs at the top for starters, appetizers, mains, and so on. I think we pretty much ordered one of everything from each section, haha!
Please note: The restaurant lighting was quite dim, so the photos don't fully capture how delicious the food looked in person.
ENTREES CHAUDES (Hot Starters)

Notre Fondue
As you can see, a classic cheese fondue at the center. What's more, it came with potatoes inside the fondue itself! The bread was also wonderfully soft and delicious.
COLD APPETIZERS

Tartare De Boeuf
This is the French version of beef tartare! While the color was quite different from the Korean style we're used to, it was absolutely delicious. Served with a tangy sauce, it made for a perfect appetizer.
SOUP & CREAMS

Potage st Germain
A soup that's supposed to be warm, but ours wasn't exactly piping hot, haha. It was also supposed to have truffle, but I barely detected any aroma. This dish was a bit of a miss for us.
PLATS PRINCIPAUX (Main Courses)

Cotelletes D'agneau A La Provencale
The name is long and fancy, but essentially, it's lamb chops. They were incredibly tender and flavorful!

Canard a l'orange
I'd never had duck prepared in a Western style before, so I was curious and ordered it. It was decent, nothing spectacular but certainly enjoyable.
DESSERTS

Since we were already building our own course meal, why not go all out and include dessert? We opted for the Mille-Feuille Inverse and the Creme Brulee. While France is renowned for its desserts, the Mille-Feuille Inverse was a bit underwhelming; it felt a little soggy, almost like it had been bought frozen and thawed. However, the Creme Brulee was an absolute standout and highly recommended! ☆
Since everything is included in the all-inclusive resort price, it was fantastic to be able to order a variety of dishes without any extra charge and try so many different things.
If you're heading to an all-inclusive resort for your Cancun honeymoon, make sure to book and enjoy the dinner restaurants!

La Bohème is said to be easy to find, located immediately to the left after exiting the TRS Coral Resort check-in lobby. You can feel its luxurious ambiance right from the exterior of the building.
When I made a reservation for 6:30 PM, there weren't many people, allowing for a leisurely meal. Westerners generally tend to dine later, so going at an earlier time usually means it's relatively quieter.
It's recommended to wear formal attire; I brought clothes that I would wear in New York. According to other reviews, it seems acceptable as long as you're not wearing flip-flops.
Among La Bohème's desserts, I highly recommend the Crème brûlée. On the other hand, the Mille-feuille Inversé felt a bit soggy and as if it had been thawed from frozen.
