A trip to Cancun, Mexico, with my friend's extended family,

As our flight was scheduled to arrive at Cancun Airport after 6 PM,

we decided to spend one night at the nearby airport hotel, Fairfield by Marriott Cancun Airport.

By the way, there are two Marriott hotels near Cancun Airport: the Courtyard Cancun Airport and the Fairfield.

They are right next to each other, but the Fairfield is a bit more affordable, so I recommend it for its great value!

is a well-located, great-value hotel near Cancun Airport, situated less than 10 minutes from the airport.

And most importantly, since we were an extended family of 10 needing to travel together, we needed a van,

and the Fairfield by Marriott Cancun Airport hotel offers a private van service,

making it easy to get from Cancun Airport to the hotel!

It's available regardless of time or number of people.

Lobby

A clean, 4-star hotel lobby

The lobby is typical for a 4-star hotel.

It seemed like many guests, like us, arrived late in Cancun and were staying for just one night.

Plus, with a 4 PM checkout, you have plenty of time to relax here before checking into your Cancun city hotel.

This is the hotel's biggest perk! 👍

The lobby also provides spaces where you can relax.

Across from the lobby, you'll find a bar and a restaurant.

It seems to operate as a breakfast buffet in the mornings.

Inside the Hotel Room

The beds at Fairfield by Marriott Cancun Airport are surprisingly soft, so you're likely to get a good night's sleep.

Outside the window, you can see the parking lot. 😅

Still, seeing the bright, sunny weather in the morning, even the sky in Cancun is quite captivating.

And you'll find everything you need for a short stay, like a TV, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and safe.

Although not pictured, bottled water is also provided.

Bathroom

The bathroom is separate from the shower, and amenities like shampoo, body wash, and body lotion are provided.

The only minor drawback is that disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste are not available.

Convenience Store

If you happen to forget your toothbrush or toothpaste, there's a mall and a convenience store right next to the hotel.

When we visited, the mall was already closed, but the convenience store operates until 11 PM.

However, it seems food sales stop around 6 PM.

Pool, Gym, and Printer

If you go through the back door connected to the convenience store or the side door past the 1st-floor lobby, you'll find an outdoor swimming pool.

A swimming pool at this price point seems quite attractive!

Next to the guest room elevators in the lobby, there's a computer available for printing,

And if you go a bit further, you can also use the gym.

The gym might be small, but it's open 24 hours!

To shed even a little bit of that belly fat in Cancun, I even squeezed in a workout after a late dinner! 💪

Since we were traveling with a large family, dinner time got really late, so we ended up ordering Domino's Pizza via Uber Eats!

There's a separate outdoor lounge, so we could comfortably enjoy our meal outside.

Breakfast is available at the restaurant across from the lobby.

However, if there's one slight disappointment, it's that fresh greens and vegetables are hard to find.

For main dishes, there's bread, cereal, and protein options,

while for dessert, coffee, yogurt, and fruits are available.

Since it's not too hot in the mornings, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast with protein outside!

More than anything, the checkout time is so generous, which makes it perfect when you arrive at an awkward time in Cancun,

making the Fairfield by Marriott near Cancun Airport an excellent value hotel for a restful stopover.
