I found the ultimate budget-friendly hotel
near the Old Town during my trip to Chiang Mai!!
It's none other than the Dusit Princess Chiang Mai!
The Dusit Princess is a well-known brand
with hotel properties all over the world,
including Phu Quoc, Malaysia, and Bangkok.

For around ~$64 a night including breakfast,
the room condition was absolutely amazing...
And out of all of them, the Chiang Mai location
is seriously the best value for money...

📍 Dusit Princess Chiang Mai
112 Changklan Rd, Tambon Chang Khlan, Amphoe Mueang Chiang Mai, Chang Wat Chiang Mai 50100 Thailand
Dusit Princess Chiang Mai is located
just right outside the Old Town area!

There's a McDonald's right in front of the hotel,
and the Night Bazaar and Anusarn Market
are within a 10-minute walk.
Plus, there's also a
Seven-Eleven convenience store nearby!!
To be honest, I didn't even think about the location
and just booked it for the pool (haha),
but the location turned out to be so, so good!
Check-in & Room Tour

At Dusit Princess Chiang Mai,
check-in is at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 12:00 PM!
When you arrive at the hotel, there's a bellhop
who helps with your bags, which was super convenient.
The entrance has quite a few steps, haha.

We arrived a little past check-in time,
so we were able to check in right away.
The staff spoke great English
and explained everything clearly.
The deposit is 1,000 Baht,
and if you pay in cash, they return it directly
when you check out, which is very convenient.
Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM!
(I'll write a detailed review of the breakfast below.)

I saw a spot in the lobby serving Happy Hour drinks,
but we couldn't try it because the timing didn't work out... haha.

Once you check in, they give you
two key cards.
Since you have to tap your card to use the elevator
and select your floor,
having two cards was super convenient!

The cheapest room type for my travel dates
was this Double Room, so that's what I booked.
The bedding was so fluffy and crispy—
the ultimate hotel bedding experience!
The AC worked incredibly well,
keeping the room perfectly cozy.
📌Based on Friday check-in in early August (same dates)
Agoda | ~$106 | |
Trip.com | ~$95 | |
Yeogihaette | ~$90 ~$87 | Lowest Price |
I kept the room type as a Double Room
across all platforms to compare prices.
As I mentioned earlier in this post!
Getting a Yeogihaette discount coupon
and booking through them is by far the cheapest way.
When booking international hotels,
these three platforms
often offer the lowest prices.
Especially Yeogihaette, which releases monthly coupon packs—
if you download them in advance,
the discount you get on booking is super satisfying!

The room is quite spacious,
so we could easily open our suitcases
and get ready in the morning with plenty of space.

Of the items kept at room temperature,
except for the tea set and bottled water,
everything is paid, so you'll be charged if you consume them!

The drinks inside the fridge
are also part of the paid minibar...
The prices aren't terribly expensive,
but I usually avoid minibar items anyway, haha.

The bathroom was also spacious and clean!
I read a few reviews mentioning an odor,
but I didn't smell anything at all and had a perfectly pleasant stay.

For free amenities, they provide a toothbrush and toothpaste
along with shampoo and body wash.
Oddly enough, hotels in Chiang Mai
don't seem to have hair conditioner...?
So I ended up buying some
hair conditioner at One Nimman.
You can easily buy single-use ones for just 5 Baht!
Breakfast & Swimming Pool

Alright, now for the breakfast buffet review!
Breakfast is served from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM,
but it starts getting pretty crowded after 7:00 AM.
So, let's wake up a bit early, fill up on delicious food,
and head out for a refreshing morning swim!~

There's a really wide variety of dishes,
though there aren't many Korean options.
It's mostly Western and Thai cuisine.
Honestly, even if you only load up on
the bread and fresh fruit, you're getting your money's worth!

With all the cereals, juices, and coffee available,
the selection was actually really impressive.

I paired some bread with my coffee,
and let me tell you, if you warm up the croissants in the oven,
they are absolutely divine.
I set the temperature a bit too high and toasted mine a little too much,
but make sure you toast yours to golden perfection!~

Now, onto one of the main reasons why I booked
Dusit Princess Chiang Mai: the pool!
The pool is open from 7:00 AM
to 7:00 PM.

Word on the street is that this pool
looks its absolute best when the midday sun
shines directly onto it.
Because of my packed schedule, I could only manage a morning swim,
which was such a bummer! ㅠㅠ
(Though it was still incredibly beautiful!)
If you really want to experience the pool to the fullest,
I highly recommend booking a stay of at least 3 nights
so you can dedicate an entire day to pure hotel relaxation!!

The best part about an early morning swim?
There was absolutely no one else around,
so it felt like having a private luxury pool all to myself!
The pool has varying depths, and since I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat,
I stayed strictly in the 1.4m section.
After splashing around, I dried off on a sunbed to unwind,
and then headed back to the room to get ready for the day's adventures!
I honestly loved Dusit Princess so much...
I was beyond satisfied
with my stay at Dusit Princess Chiang Mai.
If you're looking for accommodations near the Old City,
where the location, room condition, breakfast, and pool
are all top-notch, you should definitely consider Dusit.
