Dreaming of authentic Thai cuisine? Our Mama Noi Chiang Mai cooking class review covers everything from market visits to delicious dishes. A must-do experience!
When I thought about visiting Chiang Mai, there was one experience I absolutely wanted to try at least once:
a cooking class!
And I bet I'm not the only one; if you're planning a trip to Chiang Mai, you've probably considered it too. :)
While it's wonderful to simply enjoy delicious Thai food, I thought making it myself would create an even more special memory.
So, after some consideration, I signed up – and it turned out to be even more fulfilling and fun than I imagined!

For this Chiang Mai trip, I booked the Mama Noi Cooking Class, and it wasn't just about learning to cook;
it was a delightful experience where I could truly
immerse myself in the local Chiang Mai atmosphere!

1. Pickup Service
Mama Noi Cooking Class offers a pickup service directly from your hotel in Chiang Mai city center,
making transportation super convenient!
Being able to travel comfortably from right outside my accommodation really took the stress out of getting there.
Riding in a songthaew, we got a strong local vibe right from the start!

2. Exploring a Local Traditional Market
Once everyone who booked the class had been picked up,
we headed to a local traditional market!
They gave us a brief explanation about Thai food ingredients, and even gave us some free time to
buy local fruits, often at better prices than you'd find in tourist areas. :)

3. Mama Noi Cooking School: A Spacious Place with Plenty to See
The first thing that struck me upon arriving at Mama Noi was how incredibly spacious and beautiful the area was, much more than I expected!

There was a beautifully maintained, lush green garden, and I could even see the herbs and plants they grew themselves. It truly felt like visiting a charming little farm! :)

There were also many wonderful photo spots scattered around, making it perfect for capturing memories before and after the cooking experience! ^^

And get this, there were cute turtles! We even got to briefly experience feeding them!
These small, thoughtful touches really seemed to enhance the overall fun of the Mama Noi Cooking Class, haha.

4. The Cooking Studio
The actual cooking practice area was also incredibly spacious – it didn't feel crowded at all, even with several of us cooking together!

They handed out aprons one by one, so we tied those on first ~

Then they presented us with the menu, and honestly, I thought we'd only be choosing one dish to make from it...??!!
But you actually get to make *three* dishes yourself!!
Plus, with the final Thai milk tea and mango sticky rice,
you're making a total of five different items, including dessert.
For this price, with such an extensive menu,
and the clean, high-quality learning environment,
I was truly, deeply satisfied...❤️

I booked the Mama Noi Cooking Class through MyRealTrip, but...
Do note that prices might vary slightly due to promotions or daily exchange rate fluctuations across different travel agencies!
(Prices are per adult)
MyRealTrip | Klook | KKday |
I booked it for ~$25, but it looks like the price has dropped even further with recent exchange rate changes!
It's definitely a huge win to book quickly when the exchange rate is favorable! >.<

Honestly, I'm a total noob in the kitchen!!
My boyfriend usually does all the cooking, so...
To be frank, I was quite worried, but
it was so simple that even kids could join in,
and anyone could do it! :)
Plus, most of the ingredients were already prepped,
and the instructor kindly guided us through everything step-by-step,
so even if you're not great at cooking like me,
you won't have any trouble following along!

5. Mama Noi Cooking Class Review
And one of the things I loved about the experience was that
the instructor took photos for us throughout the class
and later sent us all the captured moments via email!

Since it's a cooking class, it can be a bit hard to take your own photos while you're busy cooking.
But even if you're traveling solo like me, you don't have to worry about getting great photos, haha!
This kind of thoughtful service really boosted my satisfaction!

Ta-da! These are the dishes I made myself~
Honestly, so incredibly satisfying...!!!❤️

And the taste? Absolutely amazing!!!
I just followed the instructions, and it tasted even better than restaurant food... 🥹❤️
Seriously, the results were much better than I expected, and I felt so proud, haha!

Lastly, we whipped up Thai Milk Tea and Mango Sticky Rice!
These were also super simple to make,
making it a truly fulfilling day :)

After we finished enjoying all our dishes,
they even gave us this adorable recipe booklet!
It was so pretty, perfect for taking home as a souvenir!
