When planning a trip to Shymkent, Kazakhstan, and looking for the perfect place to stay,
there is one standout hotel that immediately catches your eye.
It is none other than the DoubleTree by Hilton Shymkent.
For many, Shymkent might still be a hidden gem,
but it is actually Kazakhstan's third-largest city
and a major regional hub alongside Almaty and Astana.
Since we booked a round-trip ticket with SCAT Airlines flying directly in and out of Shymkent, choosing a reliable hotel was our top priority.
Here is my honest, firsthand review of our stay, along with a price comparison across booking platforms to help you get the best deal.

Situated right in the heart of downtown Shymkent,
this hotel is the top choice for international travelers visiting the region.
Since well-known global hotel chains are rare in Shymkent,
the DoubleTree by Hilton naturally becomes the go-to standard for comfort and reliability.
Best of all, it is located in the central business district,
putting major attractions, top-rated restaurants, and shopping malls within easy walking distance.

✔ Shymkent International Airport: ~15 to 20-minute drive
You can easily explore the city center on foot without needing a rental car or taxi,
which made planning our daily itinerary incredibly stress-free.
Shymkent's famous landmark, the Tulip Monument, is just a short stroll away.
On sunny days, grabbing a coffee from the nearby Starbucks
and walking through Central Park was an absolute highlight.
If you are flying with SCAT Airlines like we did,
the quick 20-minute airport transit makes DoubleTree the most convenient base.

True to the Hilton brand standard, the property was exceptionally clean
and we enjoyed a completely seamless stay.
The reception desk is open 24 hours,
and the spacious lobby was a very comfortable spot
to relax while waiting for our airport taxi.
03. Room Review
The rooms are categorized into
Standard Rooms / Superior Rooms / Suites.
As a party of two, the Standard Room with twin beds
offered more than enough comfort and space for our stay.
The elevators were surprisingly fast as well,
meaning we never had to wait around to get to our room.
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes by car from Shymkent International Airport. Shymkent Central Park is about a 10-minute walk away, and Avrora Shopping Mall can be reached in about 5 minutes by car.
Breakfast is served at the first-floor restaurant from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM on weekdays, and from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM on weekends. The menu features a mix of local Central Asian and Western dishes, allowing you to enjoy items like omelets, pancakes, and fresh fruits.
Check-in is available from 3:00 PM, and check-out is until 12:00 PM (noon). The front desk operates 24 hours a day, making it convenient for guests even before heading to the airport.
The room types are divided into Standard Rooms, Superior Rooms, and Suites. For a Standard Room on the same date, Agoda offers the cheapest rate at ~$67, which is lower compared to Trip.com or Klook.
