AKKU Cafe is situated right at the entrance of a vibrant street lined with trendy restaurants and cafes. It's the perfect neighborhood to wander around during your Almaty adventure, making it incredibly easy to stumble upon naturally.
We actually spotted its gorgeous interior during an evening stroll and bookmarked it immediately for a morning visit.

When you walk in, the friendly staff will ask for your party size and guide you to your preferred table.

Inside, there's a beautiful tile mosaic displaying "2025," indicating it's a hot new addition to the Almaty cafe scene, having just opened last year.

The outdoor terrace is incredibly spacious and would be amazing on a warm summer day. However, since it was a bit chilly during our visit, we opted for a cozy indoor table.
The indoor vibe is warm and welcoming. We saw families enjoying brunch alongside solo travelers reading or working on laptops. It’s a very relaxed, low-pressure environment where anyone can feel comfortable.

✔️ How to Order
Order drinks directly from your table.
Go up to the bakery counter to select and order your pastries.
Since the menu was only available in Russian, we used Google Translate to order an iced Americano and a hot latte right from our table. For the pastries, we headed straight to the display counter to pick them out visually.

The interior lighting is beautifully designed, giving the entire space a bright, clean, and modern aesthetic.

They had an impressive variety of croissants, each looking like a colorful work of art.
Pastry prices range from about ~$3 to ~$4, which is quite reasonable for a high-quality artisanal bakery. We noticed many locals stopping by just to buy boxes of croissants to go, which is always a great sign!

Fresh flower arrangements and vibrant lighting accents add a lively, energetic touch to the cafe's atmosphere.
We ordered a lemon cream bomboloni and a classic pain au chocolat before heading back to our table.

They also sell cute AKKU branded merchandise. Every corner of this space, from the interior design to the small details, felt incredibly stylish and well-curated.

They also offer homemade jams, rustic sourdough, and whole loaves of bread. If I lived in Almaty, I would definitely be dropping by weekly to pick up fresh bread for my morning toast!
02. Tasting Review: Coffee and Pastries at AKKU

The iced Americano was a bit on the lighter side, but it was still refreshing and provided that much-needed caffeine boost.
The hot latte came with beautiful latte art, tasting just as smooth and delicious as it looked.

The bomboloni, topped with fresh lemon zest, had a beautifully balanced, sweet-and-sour glaze.
Compared to typical dense donuts, the texture here was incredibly airy, fluffy, and light—almost cloud-like!
But the absolute star of the show was the pain au chocolat.
The pastry layers were perfectly defined and shattered with a satisfying crunch, while the chocolate filling was rich and decadent. My friend took one bite and immediately insisted I try it.
It instantly made sense why everyone was buying their croissants in bulk. If you visit AKKU, the pain au chocolat is a must-order!
Since AKKU is a relatively new spot in Almaty, you won't find many reviews of it online yet.
If you're looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy great coffee, fantastic pastries, and a view of the park from a lovely terrace, AKKU is a must-visit cafe in Almaty.
