If you're gearing up for a September adventure in the Czech Republic,

you might naturally think of just packing long-sleeved shirts and light jackets.

But when I explored **Český Krumlov and Prague**, I found myself in a

**jacket and long jeans**, and in Prague, when the rain decided to show up,

I was glad to have both an **umbrella and a rain jacket** on hand.

Today, I'll be sharing **my real-life Czech travel outfits** and

what to pack for those **rainy days**. If you're a footloose traveler

planning day trips or moving between cities, pay close attention to

what to tuck into your small bag!

September in the Czech Republic really felt like a **transitional season**.

In **Český Krumlov, I was comfortable in a jacket and long jeans**, and

I kept up the **jacket-and-jeans look in Prague** as well.

In **Prague, I stuck to a jacket** for my daytime explorations.

and also have items ready for when it rains.

On the days when rain graced my journey,

I layered up with a **rain jacket and even carried an umbrella**.

While you should always prepare based on the rain forecast and how much walking you plan to do,

also keep in mind the possibility of your bag and shoes getting wet.

First and foremost, opt for shoes you've already broken in and explored in!

If you've bought new shoes for your adventure,

make sure to wear them extensively before you depart

consider if your shoes will be dry enough to wear again the very next day.

2. If Laundry is on the Agenda, Consider Your Travel Itinerary

If you're planning to do laundry to lighten your packing load,

first check your accommodation's laundry facilities and their operating hours.

Aim to do laundry on days when you have ample time, like when you're staying multiple nights in one place,

and always have a plan for how to separate any damp items from your dry luggage.

3. For Umbrellas & Raincoats, Check Bag Size and Accessibility

If you're planning to tuck them into a small day bag,

make sure your folded umbrella and raincoat actually fit.

If you also envision shedding your outerwear and stashing it away,

it's a smart idea to ensure there's enough space for everything.

make sure to decide what items you'll need after you've dropped off your main luggage.

Even if your main activities are indoors, if you have to walk to get there,

you'll still need to be ready for the rain.

and to check your essentials for the next day.

If you're planning an early departure the following morning,

make sure to double-check that your shoes or clothes aren't still damp!

My basic outfits for my September trip to the Czech Republic were

jackets and long jeans.

In Prague, it rained, so I also used an umbrella and a rain jacket.
