Coco Nana Penang: Oceanfront Cafe in Batu Ferringhi | TRVLOGUE

Coco Nana is located

right in front of Ferringhi Bay.

If you're traveling by bus,

you can get off at the Balai Polis Batu Ferringhi bus stop.

I'd suggest getting off there even if you're taking a Grab.

We took bus number 101 from near Gurney Drive,

and it took us about 30 minutes.

However, the road there is quite winding,

so if you're prone to motion sickness,

you might find the journey a bit challenging.

Mon-Sun 12:00 - 21:00

Closed on Tuesdays.

A Look Inside Coco Nana

Coco Nana is on the second floor,

but the entrance is at the back of the building,

so keep an eye out for it!

As you head up to the second floor, you'll spot cute drawings and signs,

and to your right, you'll catch a glimpse of outdoor tables and the sea.

It would be amazing to sit out here,

but because of the hot weather,

we opted for the cool, air-conditioned indoors.

In the evening, when it's cooler,

it would be perfect to enjoy your drinks outside.

Inside, you'll also find some lovely photo zones.

Currently, due to the Lunar New Year celebrations,

many areas are decorated with a beautiful Chinese flair.

There's a good amount of seating indoors,

and plenty of outdoor spots too.

We visited during the hottest part of the day,

so most people were inside,

and all the window seats overlooking the sea were taken.

As soon as we ordered and our drinks arrived,

a window seat opened up,

and we quickly moved there! 🤣

Coco Nana's Ocean View

Step out onto the balcony seating,

and you'll be greeted with this incredible view!

Many people visiting Batu Ferringhi often head to Starbucks,

but their ocean view isn't quite as stunning as this.

If you're looking for the best ocean view,

I highly recommend Coco Nana over Starbucks.

This is the view you get when you sit at a window seat overlooking the ocean.

Luckily, the weather was clear,

so the ocean, the sky, and the sand

were all incredibly beautiful.

There's a bar on the first floor,

and those tables were part of the bar area.

As evening approached,

they started setting up the tables.

Wouldn't it be lovely to enjoy a cocktail while watching the sunset?

Since it was a weekday, it wasn't crowded,

making for a truly peaceful afternoon.

Menu

The drink menu is incredibly diverse.

Beyond the standard cafe offerings,

they also had many beautiful drinks

that looked just like cocktails.

All the menu descriptions were written in English below,

so it wasn't hard to choose.

There were many delicious-looking cakes too.

Most people were enjoying cakes as well,

but we'd had such a big lunch that

we couldn't fit any in. 😭

I feel like I'll visit Coco Nana at least one more time

during my month-long stay here, so I'll definitely try a cake then.

It's worth noting that the cake reviews are generally excellent.

Drink Review

We ordered a Splash and

a Cendulatte.

Originally, I wanted to order a drink called Lush instead of Splash,

but they were out of basil, so I changed my order.

Cendulatte (15 ringgit)

It's a latte with coconut milk

and pandan syrup.

And the pandan leaf artfully placed as a garnish is just so pretty, right?

Thanks to the pandan syrup,

you get a unique flavor that's different

from a regular coconut latte.

Splash (16 ringgit)

It's a soda with mint and lime.

With the addition of mint, its aroma gives it

an even more refreshing feel

than a typical lime soda.

Doesn't it just scream summer, even just by its look?

It really felt like a cocktail-style soda.

This drink truly paired perfectly with the blue ocean!

There are so many other beautiful drinks on the menu,

I definitely want to try a different one next time I visit.

Final Thoughts

While Batu Ferringhi boasts many cafes,

very few offer an ocean view as stunning as this one.

Seriously, I'm one of those who can't quite understand why you'd choose a Starbucks when a place with this kind of view exists!

After you've enjoyed your drink, you could take a lovely stroll along the sea right in front,

or, even better, plan your visit for sunset

and marvel at the breathtaking views

while savoring a delicious beverage.

If you ever find yourself in Batu Ferringhi, Penang,

you absolutely *must* visit Coco Nana!

Not only are the drinks delicious and the staff incredibly friendly,

but above all, I wholeheartedly recommend it as a cafe with the most spectacular ocean view!
