Inside, you'll find a cozy setup with several round, drum-style tables, characteristic of traditional Korean BBQ joints. Despite its long history, the restaurant is remarkably clean and well-maintained.

The walls are completely covered with celebrity autographs, a clear testament to its reputation as a true local hotspot.

Another plus: the restrooms are conveniently located inside the restaurant and kept very clean, which is always a bonus when you're out enjoying drinks. Disposable aprons are also readily available.

Menu & Our Order
Cheoni Ogyeopsal truly stands out for its high-quality domestic pork and fantastic value. They serve both Ogyeopsal (five-layered pork belly) and Samgyeopsal (pork belly) that are locally sourced. What's even better? In today's economy, where a bottle of soju can easily cost ~$4-5, Cheoni Ogyeopsal still offers it for a budget-friendly ~$3!

Our Order:
· Frozen Ogyeopsal (Domestic) ~$7 * 3 servings
· Steamed Egg ~$4
· Soju ~$3
· Beer ~$4
Our Experience
Once we placed our order, the basic side dishes (banchan) were promptly set. I was impressed by their thoughtful presentation: instead of crowding all the dishes on one side, they arranged identical sets of banchan on both sides of the grill, making it easy for everyone at the table to reach. Such attention to detail!

The spread included fresh lettuce, pickled chili peppers, garlic, bean sprout soup, and dipping sauces like sesame oil with salt, gochujang, and ssamjang. But the real standout? Cheoni Ogyeopsal's unique eoriguljeot (spicy salted oysters)!

The domestically sourced frozen Ogyeopsal arrived neatly arranged on a plate. Once the grill was hot, the pork belly, kimchi, seasoned scallions (pajeori), and bean sprouts were all placed on the sizzling surface.

True to its domestic quality, even though it's frozen, the pork belly boasted a beautiful, vibrant pink hue. Unlike typical thin-sliced samgyeopsal, these cuts were quite thick and substantial.

The biggest advantage of frozen pork belly? It cooks fast! Once it was perfectly golden brown on both sides, I dipped the first piece into the sesame oil and salt to savor its pure, unadulterated flavor. There was no gamey taste, just a rich, savory aroma that filled my mouth.

Just as the pork was getting ready, the steamed egg made its perfectly timed entrance! For just ~$4, it was a generous portion, filling a large earthenware pot. It was wonderfully moist, fluffy, and packed with a savory, umami flavor.

Then came the ultimate bite: a fresh lettuce leaf, topped with a piece of perfectly grilled Ogyeopsal, some kimchi and bean sprouts softened in the pork fat, and finally, a dollop of the sea-scented eoriguljeot. Pure bliss!

I was curious about the combination of pork belly and eoriguljeot, but it turned out to be an absolute match made in heaven! The rich, savory flavor of the oysters perfectly balanced the slight richness of the Ogyeopsal, leaving a clean and refreshing aftertaste.

Alternating between this unique oyster pairing and the classic bean sprout-scallion salad combination, I found myself eating endless amounts of delicious pork!
