My friends and I recently spent a fantastic overnight trip in Cheongna.
After checking out, we were on the hunt for the perfect brunch spot to cure our morning-after woes.
My friend, a true food connoisseur with incredibly high standards, led us straight to
Gajwadong Jincheon Tojong Sundae Cheongna Branch, declaring it the best Sundae-guk spot in Incheon.
I was thoroughly impressed by the generous portions of ingredients and the complete absence of any gamey smell in their blood sausage.

and you'll receive a text message notification when your table is ready.
Exterior / Interior
Gajwadong Jincheon Tojong Sundae Cheongna Branch occupies the entire first floor of its building,
so it's easy to spot from a distance.
There's even a dedicated waiting area outside the entrance for guests.
When I visited around 11:00 AM on a weekend,
there were already people waiting, which speaks volumes about its popularity!
Inside, you'll find both floor seating (traditional Korean style) and regular table seating,
with various configurations for 2 to 4 people.
I couldn't capture the entire interior as it was quite busy during my visit.
Interestingly, the entrance and exit are separate.
As you leave, you can grab a complimentary cup of mixed coffee, plum tea, iced coffee, or regular coffee –
a perfect palate cleanser after your meal.
The restrooms are also conveniently located inside the restaurant
for easy access during your visit.
Menu & My Order
Gajwadong Jincheon Tojong Sundae Cheongna Branch boasts a diverse menu,
featuring not only various Sundae-guk options but also udon, pure Sundae platters, boiled pork slices (suyuk), hot pot, and stir-fried dishes.
For the Sundae-guk, you can customize your order to include only meat, only Sundae, or the classic mixed combination,
allowing you to order to your preference.
The spice level is also adjustable: choose from original, mild, spicy, or kimchi flavor,
catering to all preferences.

Review
Gajwadong Jincheon Tojong Sundae operates only two locations:
their original Gajwadong branch and this Cheongna branch.
Ordering is a breeze thanks to the digital tablets installed at each table.
You can even check the origin of each ingredient right there!
After placing our order, we were served two types of kimchi:
fresh kimchi (겉절이) and perfectly fermented kkakdugi (깍두기).
The kkakdugi, in particular, was wonderfully tangy and had just the right amount of crunch –
it was so good, my camera even struggled to focus!
Soon after, our steaming hot bowls of Sundae-guk arrived,
brimming with ingredients.
Each bowl contained generous portions of Sundae and various cuts of pork.
I ordered the "original" flavor, which comes with both Sundae and pork.
The spicy version, I learned, also includes tripe, glass noodles, and sujebi (hand-pulled dough flakes).
What truly stood out was the complete absence of any gamey smell from both the Sundae and the pork.
The sheer volume of ingredients meant that with every spoonful, you'd get a satisfying piece of meat.
It's a truly hearty meal and an ideal hangover cure!
Overall Thoughts
If you're searching for an excellent Sundae-guk spot in Incheon or a great restaurant in Cheongna,
I wholeheartedly recommend Gajwadong Jincheon Tojong Sundae Cheongna.
Of all the blood sausage soups I've had recently,
this one truly impressed me with its generous portions and the complete lack of any unpleasant odors from the Sundae and pork.
