Many people will likely travel by car to Chujeong-ri Buckwheat Field, a famous buckwheat flower spot in Cheongju. However, there's something you should know before visiting!

As you follow the road in,
you'll notice at some point that the paved road ends,
and a narrow, unpaved road begins.
The path is narrow, and two-way traffic can be a bit precarious,
so it might be a challenging drive
for beginner drivers.

On weekends and public holidays,
there's a very high chance of a parking crunch.
If you're not confident in your driving,
I recommend parking in the public lot at the entrance
and walking up.
As of the visit date (Oct 1st),
the buckwheat flowers at Chujeong-ri Buckwheat Field were
80-90% in bloom, creating a magnificent white floral wave!

Besides the white buckwheat flowers, red buckwheat flowers
and cosmos, the quintessential autumn flower, were also in full bloom!

02. Chujeong-ri Buckwheat Field: Recommended Route & Top 3 Photo Spots
After parking, as you walk up the forest path,
a vast buckwheat field will spread out before you.
Here's a golden tip for your route!

When the path splits into two,
take the right path instead of the left.
The scenery along the right walking trail as you ascend
is much more natural and beautiful.

I went up the left path,
but came down the right, and I regretted it a bit (lol).
○● Top 3 Recommended Photo Zones
① Stand and take a photo in the paths throughout the buckwheat field!
Achieve the feeling of being in the middle of the flower field without harming the flowers!

② Take a shot while quietly gazing at the scenery from a bench or cabin found along the walking trails.

③ Head up to where the yellow cosmos and
pink cosmos are blooming together above the buckwheat field.
Have your "model" stand lower down,
and you'll instantly capture an amazing life-shot with the entire buckwheat field in view!

03. What to Wear and When to Visit for That Perfect Shot
From my visit today, I'll share
two of the most crucial practical tips I learned.

First up is the best time to visit.
I highly recommend visiting in the morning,
before the sun goes down behind the opposite mountain.
If you go late in the afternoon, as the sun sets,
deep shadows from the mountain fall over the buckwheat field.

If you want sparkling, sun-kissed photos,
be a little early and visit in the morning!
My second tip is about your shoe choice.
There's a slight uphill walk from the parking lot to the buckwheat field,
and the paths between the fields are dirt and rocky.
So, high heels or slippers are a definite no-go!

You could easily slip on the dirt,
so make sure to wear comfortable sneakers or flats.
