🌊 Who We Recommend Cafe 109 House For:
✔︎ Travelers searching for the ultimate scenic ocean-view drive near Seoul.
✔︎ Couples looking for a romantic, photogenic date spot with sunset views.
✔︎ Pet owners looking for a welcoming, indoor/outdoor pet-friendly cafe on Ganghwa Island.
Lately, I've been taking weekly trips down to Ganghwa Island. Every time I drove past Geonpyeong Port, this stunning white-and-blue building kept catching my eye. I finally made the time to stop by, and it did not disappoint!
First off, the parking lot is incredibly spacious. If you're a beginner driver worried about tight parking spots on a day trip, you can rest easy here.
The cafe has a gorgeous Mediterranean aesthetic that makes you feel like you've been transported straight to Santorini. Every single corner is a potential photo zone! ❤️
The resort-style interior feels bright, breezy, and incredibly relaxing. 💙
The outdoor terrace seating is just as lovely, offering panoramic views of the sea. 💙
With spacious seating spread across the first and second floors, both indoors and outdoors, you won't have to stress about finding a spot even during busy weekend rushes.
One of the absolute best features of Cafe 109 House is its pet-friendly policy. As long as your pet is on a leash, held, or kept in a carrier/stroller, dogs are allowed indoors. This makes it a fantastic refuge on rainy or hot days!
On the day we visited, it was drizzling slightly, but as the rain cleared up, we grabbed a cozy outdoor table with our dog, Lotto, and headed inside to order.
The Menu
We decided to try their signature drinks: the 109 Latte, the Orange Sunset, and a classic Vanilla Latte.
Beyond coffee, they offer a delicious selection of cakes, pastries, and even savory dishes like pasta and pizza, making it a great spot for a casual lunch by the water.
They also sell dedicated pet treats! If you ever forget to pack snacks for your furry companion, you can easily grab some at the counter.
We picked up a treat for Lotto...
And safe to say, it was a massive hit! 💙
Our drinks arrived quickly. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered:
The 109 Latte
The signature **109 Latte** features vibrant Blue Curacao syrup at the bottom, evoking the deep blue ocean, topped with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. It is beautifully sweet and refreshing.
Orange Sunset
This non-coffee option was ordered for my mom. It blends rich grapefruit and orange flavors, perfectly mimicking the famous, fiery West Sea sunset. The presentation and taste were absolutely flawless.
Vanilla Latte
For those who prefer a classic, sweet coffee, the Vanilla Latte is incredibly smooth, nutty, and satisfying. I would absolutely order this one again!
Fun & Entertainment
The Game Room
While it's a great spot to sit and chat, the cafe also features an indoor game room where you can play retro arcade games with friends or family.
Endless Photo Spots
The outdoor terrace is beautifully landscaped with cute vintage props, including a retro car. If you love taking aesthetic photos for your feed, you'll be in heaven here!
✔︎ Final Thoughts on Cafe 109 House
The resort aesthetic is absolutely stunning, and unlike some photogenic cafes where the drinks are subpar, the beverages here are top-tier. I'll definitely be back for another sunset drive!
