Weekday Waiting Status & Takeout Ordering
This popular Bupyeong spot is open from early evening on weekdays and weekends until a late 5:00 AM, making it a favorite haunt for night owls and drink enthusiasts.
We visited on a weekday evening, around 6:40 PM, and thankfully, we were seated right away with no waiting!
Good news for locals! All their *anju* (drinking snacks) are available for takeout, perfect for a cozy night in or a late-night treat at home.
Exterior / Interior
Located near Bupyeong Station's Theme Street and Seafood Stew Alley, it's incredibly easy to find. The retro yellow signboard with bold red lettering stands out from a distance, so you won't miss it.

Step inside, and you'll be greeted by the iconic red tables and chairs, a signature of *pojangmacha* culture.

It perfectly captures the romantic vibe of a street-side *pojangmacha*, but with the added comfort of being indoors – meaning you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere without worrying about the weather, staying cool in summer and warm in winter.

Menu & Our Order
As expected from an establishment founded by a proprietor with years of experience running a traditional street *pojangmacha*, the menu is incredibly diverse.
It's a comprehensive collection of *pojangmacha* favorites, including stir-fries, grilled dishes, hearty stews, savory pancakes, and even fresh seafood.

Our Order:
·Grilled Mackerel: ~$11
·Feast Noodles (Janchi-guksu): ~$4
·Soju
Review
Once we placed our order, the table was set with classic complimentary *anju* (drinking snacks): a warm seaweed soup served in a charming aluminum pot, crunchy bean sprout salad, and peanuts.
The seaweed soup broth was incredibly rich and deep – seriously, I could have finished half a bottle of *soju* with just that!

When you're at a *pojangmacha*, even if you're full, *Janchi-guksu* (feast noodles) is an absolute must-order – it's practically a ritual!

When you order the noodles, they kindly provide perfectly ripened sour kimchi and pickled radish to go with it.

Twirl a generous amount of noodles onto your spoon, top it with a slice of that perfectly fermented kimchi, and take a bite – it's absolutely divine!
The warm, clear anchovy broth instantly soothes and feels like a perfect hangover cure after our first round.

I originally wanted grilled croaker, but it seemed the croakers were all 'out on business' that day, so we went with the grilled mackerel instead!

Often, when you order grilled fish at a regular pub, you end up with messy hands trying to pick out all the tiny bones. But at Yeongcheoline Pojangmacha, the mackerel is served as thick, boneless fillets, making it incredibly easy to enjoy with chopsticks.

Grilled to a perfect golden crisp, the exterior was delightfully crunchy while the inside remained moist and tender.
Dipped in a bit of wasabi soy sauce, the savory and subtly salty flavors filled my mouth – a truly excellent pairing with our drinks!

Overall Thoughts
Honestly, before visiting, I'd seen a few online reviews mentioning 'somewhat unfriendly service,' so I went in with a mix of apprehension and excitement. However, I can happily report that we experienced no unfriendliness at all!
If you're near Bupyeong Station's Theme Street and want to truly immerse yourself in the warm, old-school charm of a *pojangmacha* without breaking the bank, I highly recommend 30-Year Traditional Yeongcheoline Pojangmacha.
So, if you're wondering where to grab a drink tonight in Bupyeong, why not pull up a red stool at this cozy *pojangmacha* and enjoy some heartwarming conversations in a truly romantic setting?
