Best Photo Spots at Juknokwon

Honestly, when you're exploring Juknokwon in Damyang,
every single spot feels like a photo zone~
If you snap a photo standing under these towering bamboo stalks,
you'll get that perfect, vibrant green aesthetic!

It looks like the lights overhead turn on at night~
I bet it looks absolutely magical after dark!

While strolling through the bamboo forest,
these adorable cats suddenly appeared out of nowhere!
They were so incredibly cute~
Could they be the official mascots of Juknokwon?

They sat down, acting so cute,
and practically begged to be pet~
Such adorable babies!
But I guess they eat really well here at Juknokwon,
because they were so wonderfully plump!

You can also catch a cool, refreshing breeze at the pavilion~

A bamboo daybed!
If only I had worn more comfortable clothes, I would've loved to lie down right there!

Did you know that Damyang Juknokwon was actually a filming location for several movies and shows?
They apparently filmed the horror movie 'R-Point' right here!
I think I watched it when I was younger, but my memory is a bit fuzzy... haha.
It was also a filming site for the popular variety show '2 Days & 1 Night' and the drama 'Iljimae'!
Damyang Hotspot: Juknokwon Hanok Foot Bath & Rest Area

Inside Damyang Juknokwon, there's a Hanok Rest Area offering bamboo vinegar foot baths!
Operating Hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Break Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Experience Duration: 15 minutes per session
Fee: ~$2 (Card only)

You can enjoy your foot bath right there on the left,
Damyang's bamboo vinegar foot bath is known for its excellent antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and odor-eliminating properties.
Plus, it stimulates blood circulation—perfect for melting away all your travel fatigue!
I really wanted to try it, but the mosquitoes in Juknokwon were on another level...
I was worried that sitting still for a foot bath would turn me into a free buffet for them, so I had to skip it.
Damyang Travel Tips: Parking at Juknokwon

As for parking at Damyang Juknokwon,
you can easily use the Damyang Stadium (Damyang General Gymnasium) Parking Lot!

the famous Damyang Gwanbangjerim Forest, making it super easy to visit both together.
Damyang Hotspot: Bonghwangru Pavilion at Juknokwon

I spotted the Bonghwangru Pavilion and had to go check it out.

If you take a photo from up here, you can snap a gorgeous shot of a lifetime!
There's also a cafe inside, so you can grab a refreshing ice cream or a cool drink~

And on the other side of the cafe, there's an educational space explaining all about Juknokwon's bamboo,
which seems great for families traveling with kids~

It looks like Juknokwon is home to several types of bamboo: giant timber bamboo, Henon bamboo, and Moso bamboo!
If it weren't for this place, I would have just walked past thinking they all looked exactly the same!~
Damyang Travel: Pro-Tips for Visiting Juknokwon

Now, I'm going to share some super important insider tips for visiting Juknokwon.
If you look at the photo above, can you see how crazy-bad I got bitten by mosquitoes?
All of these bites happened in just 10 minutes...
My friend got maybe one bite? Meanwhile, I became the ultimate feast....

When you buy your ticket, they have mosquito repellent available...
I actually wondered, "Do I really need to spray that?" but...
Yes, you absolutely *must* spray it.
Otherwise, you'll be hosting a blood donation party!~

Thankfully, some kind people walking behind me saw my legs and immediately offered me some anti-itch balm.
Saying it looked pretty serious... haha.
Thanks to them, the itching finally calmed down!!
Make sure you spray your arms and legs thoroughly before heading in!!
A real lifesaver of a tip, right?!
