Another exciting journey begins with Hyerri, your cheerful global explorer 🌏

One of the places I was most excited about for my trip to Kyrgyzstan was definitely Song-Kul Lake!

I really wanted to stay in a traditional yurt, gazing out at the high-altitude pastures and Song-Kul Lake, which is why I chose Yurt Camp Ali-Nur.

3. Yurt Camp Exterior & Interior

Upon arriving at Yurt Camp Ali-Nur, the very first thing that captivated me was, of course, the breathtaking surrounding scenery!

Around the accommodation, there are no tall buildings, just vast grasslands stretching out, with mountains and Song-Kul Lake visible beyond – a truly magnificent view.

Several traditional yurts were dotted across the expansive pasture, and the way they harmonized with the surrounding nature was just incredibly beautiful!

4. Yurt Comfort

The room we used was a double/twin room,

and the yurt interior had a traditional vibe.

It was a simple setup with three single beds.

Song-Kul Lake is located at a high altitude,

so even in mid-summer, temperatures drop quite a bit at night.

A staff member personally turned on the heater for us,

but as dawn approached, the fire gradually died out,

and it got really cold, even in the middle of summer 🥹.

So, even if you visit in summer,

make sure to pack something warm, like a light puffer jacket or fleece!

The restrooms and showers are shared,

and there were separate shower facilities, restrooms, and sinks available.

Since the showers are only open during set hours,

I recommend taking a quick shower before dinner!

(I missed the shower time and ended up not showering...)

5. Dinner / Breakfast

Since there's nothing around Song-Kul Lake,

we paid 2,000 som extra for dinner for two.

The dining area offered panoramic views of the mountains and Song-Kul Lake,

so the scenery was fantastic!

For dinner, we had a local home-cooked meal,

and it was incredibly generous!

We were served soup and a dish similar to Korean braised spicy chicken (dak-bokkeum-tang).

It was much like Korean food, but with a subtle hint of local spices.

For breakfast, we had pancakes, eggs, cucumber, tomatoes, cheese, ham, and

a soup with butter. The soup was a bit sweet, which wasn't quite to my taste 🥹.

6. Amenities

At the accommodation, you can try horseback riding for a fee.

With endless grasslands stretching around Song-Kul Lake,

it would be absolutely amazing to explore on horseback!

Right in front of the accommodation, there's even a swing like this.

We took pictures and had so much fun swinging!

Yurt Camp Ali-Nur was a truly memorable stay,

all thanks to its breathtaking scenery.

When I opened the yurt door in the morning,

I was greeted by vast grasslands, Song-Kul Lake, and even horses!

This yurt experience you can have in Kyrgyzstan
