Another day, another adventure! Join me, Hyery, your joyful global explorer, as my travel journal begins 🌏
On this particular day, after a long journey crossing the border from Kazakhstan into Kyrgyzstan, our itinerary led us to stay at the **Ak-Sai Travel Karkyra Yurt Camp**, conveniently located **near the Karkara border**!
Even though it's a **traditional yurt**, it's equipped with a **private bathroom and shower** right **inside the room**! The quality was superb, making it the best yurt I've ever stayed in, and I highly recommend this accommodation 🛖
📌 Why I Chose This Accommodation 📌
• Conveniently located near the Kazakhstan/Kyrgyzstan border
• Boasting beautiful natural views
• Private en-suite bathroom and toilet

I recommend checking both platforms and booking with whichever offers a better deal!

3. Accommodation Exterior & Interior

After crossing the border from **Kazakhstan into Kyrgyzstan**, a scenic 20-minute drive will bring you to the Karkara Yurt Camp, where traditional yurts and tents are beautifully nestled across a vast grassland!

The friendly staff checked us in and, to my delightful surprise, even used a tractor to transport our heavy luggage to our assigned yurt – how incredibly thoughtful!

We stayed in a Standard Yurt,
and were assigned to Yurt No. 14!
4. Room Condition

From the outside, it looks like a typical yurt, but once you step inside,
you'll find everything from a bed and bedding to lighting and power outlets!
It was incredibly comfortable!

I usually get cold easily,
and even in summer, Karakara (referring to the region/camp) has significant temperature swings between day and night.
But with a radiator, I slept incredibly warm and cozy 🥹
💡 Since the daily temperature range is wide, make sure to bring a lightweight padded jacket!

With an extra blanket and even a fan provided,
they really thought of everything you might subtly need inside the yurt!

There was also an electric kettle, along with tea bags and coffee.
Plus, there was a water bottle, so when we finished the water, we could easily refill it at the restaurant.

Since the accommodation isn't in a city, getting to a supermarket can be tricky,
but they sold a wide variety of items, including drinks, beer, and wine.
And the prices weren't as expensive as I thought!

And the best part was that each yurt had its own private bathroom!
While many traditional yurts often have shared restrooms and showers,
having one inside our room here was incredibly convenient.
The water pressure was great, and the hot water flowed perfectly too!!!!

Shampoo, body wash, and lotion are all provided,
so the basic washing facilities are well-equipped

One side of the yurt features a private terrace entirely made of glass,
allowing you to lift the curtains and admire the view outside.
I spent the morning just gazing at the lush green scenery, lost in thought.

Surrounded by many mountains, this accommodation also serves as a base camp,
so I spotted many hikers and trekkers among the guests!

The surrounding scenery is truly beautiful,
and the sunsets are stunning, so there's never a dull moment
when you're admiring nature..!
There are even camping chairs inside the yurt!!

5. Dinner, Breakfast

Since there aren't any restaurants around the accommodation,
we decided to add dinner to our booking.
(Breakfast was already included with our stay!)

The dining and relaxation areas are spacious,
allowing us to enjoy our meals without feeling crowded!

Dinner
19:00 ~ 20:00
Dinner was served buffet-style, featuring local dishes and fruits,
allowing us to have a proper meal after a long time!

The meat dishes, in particular, were incredibly well-seasoned and delicious,
so both my husband and I ate a lot.
Adding dinner is absolutely a must-do!

Black tea, green tea, and coffee are always available,
and we were told we could come and drink them anytime.

Breakfast
8:00 AM ~ 9:00 AM
Breakfast was served buffet-style,
focusing on simple, easy-to-eat options like
bread, ham, eggs, cereal, and yogurt.

I was really satisfied because I could eat a hearty breakfast!
I was so grateful that a staff member even went out of their way to bring me
some bread with cheese!
6. Facilities

They had a variety of facilities and programs available for an additional fee,
from a traditional sauna and outdoor hot tub to BBQ!
Our schedule was tight, as we were only staying one night,
so unfortunately we couldn't participate.
But if you're interested, I think it would be a great experience!

You could also go horseback riding, rent bicycles,
or take photos wearing traditional clothing!

They also sold souvenirs, and I bought one because it was cheap at $6. Haha.
I heard the same item was a bit more expensive in the city.
For anyone looking for accommodation near the border
when traveling from Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyzstan border,
Ak-Sai Travel Karkyra Yurt Camp
is a place I truly recommend!
Most of all, the natural scenery that unfolds right outside the accommodation
is what I remember most. With that,
I'll conclude my post introducing this fantastic place 💚
