When preparing for a trip to Yeosu and choosing accommodation,
I found that while being close to tourist attractions is important, I also look for a place where I can quietly relax for a day.
When you think of Yeosu, dazzling and romantic sights like Romantic Pocha, Yeosu Night Sea, and Dolsan Bridge might come to mind first! But for this trip, I wanted to find accommodation in Yeosu with a slightly different vibe.
📍 Hanok Hotel Odongjae 99 Bakramhoe-gil, Yeosu-si, Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City
And that's how I ended up choosing 👀
Hanok Hotel Odongjae, located near Yeosu Expo Station!✨
Odongjae is about a 10-minute drive from Yeosu Expo Station, making it quite accessible for a Yeosu trip.
When you're exploring Yeosu, you tend to be out and about all day, and traveling a long distance back to your accommodation can subtly add to the fatigue, right?
From that perspective, being close to Yeosu Expo Station yet
I really liked Odongjae's location, which is slightly removed from the bustling city atmosphere.
More than anything, what first caught my eye upon arrival was
the distinctive tiled roofs and graceful curves of a hanok, nestled among modern buildings.
Yeosu boasts many beautiful hotels and ocean-view accommodations, but Odongjae definitely had a different atmosphere from a typical hotel.
Thanks to the serene atmosphere created by the wood, tiled roofs, and traditional lines of the hanok, I felt my travel pace slow down a little from the moment I stepped through the entrance 🧡💛🧡
Experiencing the 'Beauty of Emptiness' at a Yeosu Hanok Hotel
One of the biggest reasons I chose Odongjae as my accommodation in Yeosu was precisely this atmosphere.
When traveling, you often try to see just one more great place,
and squeeze in one more famous restaurant, packing your schedule tight. But for this trip to Yeosu, I actually wanted to take some time to do nothing and simply rest.
Odongjae was the perfect accommodation for that kind of trip.
Rather than filling the space with elaborate decorations, I was impressed by the simple, understated elegance unique to hanok and the areas where you could gaze out at nature.
The view from the guest room was particularly wonderful.
Yeosu Sea Unfolding Beyond the Floor-to-Ceiling Window🌅
As soon as I entered the room, my gaze was immediately drawn to the window!
Beyond the huge window, the Yeosu sea stretched out,
and the view from inside the room felt just like a framed painting.
The combination of the hanok's understated space and the blue sea also blended beautifully.
While many people seek ocean-view hotels these days, Odongjae's sea view had a slightly different feel from a typical hotel's ocean view.
It was simply captivating to gaze at the sea from within the relaxed atmosphere of a hanok, rather than through extravagant interiors.
Sitting by the window for a moment, just gazing at the sea,
I felt as if the thoughts that had crowded my mind were slowly clearing away.
That's why the atmosphere of 'emptiness' that Odongjae speaks of,
I thought, might be exactly this. 🌿
Why It Was Even Better to Return After Seeing the Yeosu Night Sea
Since I came all the way to Yeosu, I spent the day sightseeing,
and of course, enjoyed the Yeosu Night Sea and delicious food in the evening.
A 'brutal' schedule: dinner then fresh sashimi for a late-night snack..
After fully enjoying Yeosu's night atmosphere at Romantic Pocha, I returned to my accommodation and felt a different vibe from Odongjae compared to the daytime.
It was like the calm atmosphere unique to a hanok was waiting for me when I returned to the accommodation!?👀✨🤩
Fitting for a Hanok Hotel, traditional playthings are available at the accommodation!
‘A trip where you play hard when it's time to play, and rest well when it's time to rest’
This is exactly the kind of experience I was hoping for on my Yeosu trip!

Yeosu Odongjae Stay: Insider Tip 🌅
And what I'd most highly recommend is the morning time!!!
While it's great to sleep in when you're traveling,
if you're staying at Odongjae, try waking up a little earlier.
I found the time spent gazing at the morning sun filtering through the window and the tranquil seascape of Yeosu to be surprisingly wonderful.
Sitting by the window with a warm cup of tea,
it's a healing moment in itself, without even needing to go out and explore.
In fact, I think these kinds of moments are what linger longest in our travel memories.

You can comfortably enjoy the Yeosu Night Sea Fireworks Festival right from your room. 🎇
Odongjae, in particular, boasts floor-to-ceiling windows in every room, allowing you to enjoy the stunning Yeosu scenery from inside. On the days of the fireworks festival, it's the perfect place to sit back comfortably in your room and watch the fireworks light up the Yeosu night sea.
No need to wait for hours to secure a good spot in the crowded festival grounds; the huge advantage here is being able to relax leisurely at your accommodation and then simply watch the fireworks from your room when the time comes!
Especially if you're planning to attend the Yeosu Night Sea Fireworks Festival in October, your choice of accommodation will be quite important.
