Yeosu Belle Mer Hotel

Hi there! This is Doorimap.🏄♀️
When planning my trip to Yeosu, the thing I spent the longest time agonizing over was definitely the hotel...
There are just so many amazing places to stay in Yeosu!
Sono Calm, Shilla Stay, U-top, JCS, La Terrasse, Belle Mer…
Just searching for them online felt endless.
Even after finalizing my travel dates, finding the perfect accommodation remained my biggest dilemma.
While memories of tourist spots can fade slightly over time, the moments spent at a great hotel usually stay with me for a long time. That’s why I wanted to choose extra carefully this time.
We had three main criteria:
✅ A guaranteed, stunning ocean view.
✅ Spacious and sparkling clean rooms.
✅ A place where spending an entire day inside wouldn't feel like a waste.
The place that checked every single box was none other than Yeosu Belle Mer Hotel!
To jump straight to the conclusion, I can highly recommend this stay not only for couples planning a romantic getaway, but also for those traveling with parents or organizing a big family trip!
📍 Hanwha Hotels & Resorts Yeosu Belle Mer

Belle Mer is a 4-star hotel under the Hanwha Hotels & Resorts umbrella, located in the Ungcheon district of Yeosu.
While it’s not as bustling with tourists as Dolsan, this actually made it the perfect, peaceful spot to unwind.
Getting around by car was incredibly convenient, and the main tourist attractions in Yeosu weren't too far away. What I loved most, though, was the surrounding area.
Instead of being isolated in the middle of nowhere, the hotel is situated within the Forena Ungcheon The Island complex, meaning restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores were all just steps away. There is even a convenience store right on the hotel's lobby floor. It was also wonderful for taking a breezy evening stroll along the water after a long day of sightseeing.

🚗 Parking: Dedicated Parking Lot on the 2nd Floor
🚅 From Yeocheon Station (KTX): Take bus 610 or 61 (approx. 30 mins), or take a taxi for 15 mins (taxi fare is approx. ~$6)
There is a dedicated parking lot for Belle Mer guests on the 2nd floor, so we parked there and headed up to the lobby on the 3rd floor.
The moment we stepped into the lobby, the view of the ocean through the floor-to-ceiling windows was so much more stunning than we expected. We ended up taking photos before we even checked in!

Why did we book the Premier Suite? |
We chose the Premier Suite. To be honest, booking a Premier Suite for just the two of us might seem a bit extra.
Initially, we were planning on just booking a standard room.
But as I was looking through reviews, I noticed that guest satisfaction for the Premier Suite at Belle Mer was exceptionally high. A friend of mine also highly recommended it. Since we were going on a trip anyway, I figured we should splurge a bit on the accommodation this time.
And the second we checked in, the words 'We made the right choice' immediately came out of my mouth.
When you enter the room, you are greeted by a spacious living area.
The sight of boats floating like tiny dots on the water towards a small island right ahead
was so picturesque, it almost felt like a scenic backdrop custom-designed just for hotel guests.

The layout features bedrooms extending out on both sides, but the absolute best part was that you could see the ocean no matter where you were standing.
In the living room,
in the bedrooms,
and even sitting on the chairs by the window—the ocean was always right there.

While sightseeing is a huge part of travel, sometimes the moments where you do absolutely nothing but stare out the window end up being the most memorable. Belle Mer was the perfect place to do exactly that.
The size of the suite was much larger than we expected.
One living room,
Two bedrooms,
Two bathrooms,
An additional separate restroom,
Plus a mini kitchen.
To be honest, it was almost too spacious for just the two of us.
Instead, I think this suite's true value would really shine if you visited with parents, kids, or a larger family group.
With multiple bathrooms, there'd be no waiting around while getting ready in the morning.
The master bedroom was incredibly satisfying as well.
Featuring double sinks and a generous shower space, the entire suite felt incredibly well-designed with comfort in mind.

Master Bedroom
The twin room was also incredibly spacious, boasting a view where you can enjoy a half-bath in the tub while looking out at the ocean.
While the master bedroom lets you gaze at the sea from the comfort of the bed, the twin room lets you enjoy the ocean view from the bathroom. I could really feel the thoughtful design behind this layout.

Overall, the interior has a calm, woody tone, though the red accent wall on one side might be a bit of hit-or-miss depending on your taste.
But honestly, the view outside the window is so incredible that you'll forget about it in no time! haha
Also, guests staying in the Premier Suite get access to the Executive Lounge. They have coffee and cookies ready,
making it the perfect spot to pop in whenever you have some free time.

How is the Pool? |
When you search for Belle Mer, you'll see quite a few reviews about the swimming pool. Having seen it myself, I'd say it's on the smaller side.

If you're expecting a grand, flashy infinity pool, you might be a little disappointed.
However, because it's shallow and designed perfectly for kids to splash around safely, it might actually be a huge plus for family travelers.

Our itinerary was super tight, so we didn't get a chance to use it, but I read many reviews saying that even though the sauna is compact,
you can enjoy a beautiful ocean view while relaxing there.
If I return next time with my parents and nieces/nephews, I definitely want to try it out.
Pricing and Discount Info |
When booking the hotel, the aspect I compared the most was definitely the price.
Belle Mer's rates tend to fluctuate quite a bit depending on the season.
Honestly, booking solely based on the official website rates felt like leaving money on the table.
When I compared them before booking, there were dates where booking platforms were cheaper than the official site, and other times when the official promotion offered the absolute lowest rate.
That's why I always recommend cross-checking the official website, Agoda, MyRealTrip, and Trip.com.
You'd be surprised how often the exact same room differs by tens of dollars.
There is also a wide variety of room types.
You can choose the perfect fit for your travel group, ranging from Standard to Superior Suite, Deluxe Suite, Terrace Suite, and Premier Suite.
As you can see in the table below, the regular price for a Premier Suite is in the ~$320 to ~$384 range during the off-season, and around the ~$512 to ~$576 range during the peak season.
But of course, booking through travel platforms opens up various discount opportunities and payment benefits.
Based on my search for the Superior Suite, Agoda had the lowest price.
Platform | Price | Booking Link |
Agoda | ~$167 | |
MyRealTrip | ~$179 |
MyRealTrip is also offering various additional payment perks for July,
so make sure to check them out before they run out.

Whenever I travel to coastal areas in Korea or abroad, I absolutely love going on yacht or catamaran tours. A major perk of Belle Mer is that the Yi Sun-sin Marina is located right next door! There are several yacht tour programs departing from there, but sadly, our schedules didn't line up so we missed out. ㅠㅠ
Among the tours departing from the Yi Sun-sin Marina, the Agrina Yacht Tour seems to be the most popular, but there are plenty of other options available. Since sunset tours and peak-season slots fill up fast, I highly recommend booking in advance if you're interested!

Final Review |
If I had to pick the hotel I was most satisfied with on my recent trip to Yeosu, I'd choose Belle Mer in a heartbeat.
It's the kind of hotel where the longer you stay, the more in love with it you become.
Though the relatively small pool was a slight drawback, considering the room condition, ocean view, location, and amenities, it was a thoroughly satisfying choice.
In particular, I highly recommend the Premier Suite as a must-try experience, not just for couple getaways but also for family trips with your parents.
However, during peak seasons, popular rooms sell out super fast, so once your travel dates are locked in, I recommend checking the prices right away!
