Yangyang The AN Resort (양양 더앤리조트) Family Trip Review: Double Deluxe Room for 4 – Honest Pros & Cons

While planning a 4-person family trip with my parents for this year's Golden Week holiday, I was surprised by the accommodation prices in Yangyang.

Popular places were already sold out or cost well over ₩600,000 (~$446) per night.

So I searched again with a budget under ₩300,000 (~$223) and found Yangyang The AN Resort, which even has hot springs and a spa. The facilities looked great for the price, so I immediately booked a Double Deluxe Room at The AN Resort.

Since it's a resort hidden in nature, the air even smelled different on the drive up, which slowly built up my anticipation.

Location, First Impressions, and Check-in Tips for Yangyang The AN Resort

Yangyang The AN Resort is located at 260 Gaemae-gil (개매길), Hyeonnam-myeon (현남면), Yangyang-gun (양양군), Gangwon Province (강원).

From Seoul (서울), it took a little over 3 hours by car.

It's also a quick drive to the beach, so it makes for a nice driving course.

The entrance road is a bit narrow and the surroundings are forested, which makes it even quieter at night. However, there are hardly any restaurants within walking distance.

Check-in was at 3 PM, check-out at 11 AM, and both in-person and self-check-in were available at the main building's 1st-floor lobby.

It seemed like the rooms were fully booked for the Golden Week holiday, but thankfully, there was parking available!

You can use the outdoor parking lot!

The AN Resort Double Deluxe Room: Layout, Amenities, and Towel Shortcomings

The Double Deluxe Room at The AN Resort where we stayed featured a large room that served as both a living room and bedroom, complete with a double bed and a table.

It also had a smaller, separate room next to it, divided by a sliding door.

One bed in the large room, and one in the small room!

I thought the layout was really suitable for a 4-person family accommodation.

The room included a microwave, a vanity table, a coffee pot, a small refrigerator, a drying rack, and hangers. However, bathrobes were not provided for the Deluxe Room!

A great point was that all the tap water was hot spring water, so even just showering made my skin feel soft and smooth! Amazing!

Amenities included soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.

However, toothbrushes and toothpaste were not provided!

The heating was ondol (온돌), so the floor quickly warmed up,

which my parents particularly loved.

However, the most regrettable thing about Yangyang The N Resort (양양 더앤리조트)

was none other than the towels.

For a party of four, they only provided one towel per person,

and charged ₩1,000 (~$1) per towel for additional requests.

Considering the price during a golden holiday period, I can understand it,

but it still felt a bit strict for a family.

If you're planning a trip to Yangyang The N Resort,

I'd personally recommend bringing plenty of your own towels..!

Hot Springs & Spa: Diverse Facilities!

Many people visit Yangyang The N Resort specifically to enjoy the hot springs.

Garden On (가든온), which features both indoor and outdoor areas,

operates from 11 AM to 6 PM from Sunday to Thursday,

and from 11 AM to 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

Spa On (스파온) operates from 8 AM to 8 PM from Sunday to Thursday,

and from 8 AM to 9 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

There are many positive reviews about its large size and quality,

so for those who love hot springs,

it would be great to bring your swimsuits and enjoy!

We didn't use them separately, though.

The spa usage fee is separate even for guests,

so for a family of four to all enter,

the cost can be quite substantial, more than you might expect.

Inside the resort, there's a convenience store, a cafe, a pocha (포차),

and even a breakfast restaurant,

so you probably won't need to drive out

to sort out at least one meal!

We actually brought back some raw fish from a hoe center (회센터) near Naksansa Temple (낙산사) beforehand to enjoy :)

We had planned to order from the Night Pocha (나이트포차) if we needed more food

(it gets really good reviews!),

but unfortunately, we were too full to try it in the end..

Yangyang The N Resort was a great place to stay for enjoying hot springs with parents,

offering great value for money.

The landscaping is beautifully maintained,

and my parents loved it when I took their photos during our morning walk!

Thanks to the room layout, hot spring water, and natural views,

we had a very comfortable and relaxing one-night stay.

I booked it for around ₩300,000 (~$223) during the golden holiday period,

but it's usually a much more budget-friendly option!

If you keep in mind the extra charge for towels

and the separate spa fees beforehand,

it seems like a fantastic value-for-money accommodation!

I scoured all the websites to book,

and this is where I found the best deal in the end!

During golden holiday periods and weekends, available rooms sell out fast,

so it's a good idea to check prices and availability in advance.
