We visited Weihai's Nashanghai Beach and the Giant Ferris Wheel,

and afterward, we headed to a nearby seafood specialty restaurant called

Yujian Xiaohaitun Haixian Canting.

We found it based solely on reviews from Dazhong Dianping and Gaode Maps.

Even though it was a local spot primarily frequented by residents,

we were absolutely delighted, so I'm sharing my review!

Inside, you'll even find seating areas with a glamping vibe!

Overall, it's very clean, and there are plenty of tables.

As expected from a seafood specialty restaurant, they have aquariums,

which reassured me that the seafood was incredibly fresh.

You order by scanning the QR code on the table

with Alipay.

However, the seafood pot I wanted

wasn't visible on the screen.

So, I showed the menu picture to a staff member,

and they immediately found it on the screen and selected it for me.

From there, the ordering and payment process was seamless.

They were incredibly friendly, even using a translator to ask in Korean

if there was anything I couldn't eat.

So, if you're traveling in Weihai and your Chinese

isn't perfect, you absolutely don't need to worry!

3. How's the Mala Seafood Pot?

For table settings, they provide tableware and water.

However, there's a charge of 4 Chinese Yuan per person for the tableware.

We also ordered drinks and alcohol to go with the Mala Seafood Pot. We got Yantai Gaoliang Liquor and two Cokes.

They even provide wet wipes, aprons, and plastic gloves – so thoughtful!

⭐ The Mala Seafood Pot Arrives!

The menu we ordered was 麻辣海鲜大咖 (Mala Haixian Daka),

which translates to "Spicy Seafood Master."

It was a Mala Seafood Stew that felt like Mala Palbochae.

The spicy, fiery flavor was intense yet, somehow, not overpowering.

The spiciness didn't linger; it faded quickly.

I compared it with my fist.

Can you get a sense of the bowl's size? 😮

Perhaps because of the starch, the seafood and sauce

weren't separate but all clung together beautifully.

Small clams, scallops, conch, blue crab, oysters, shrimp,

razor clams, abalone, starfish, and even vegetables were all included,

making the ingredient list truly abundant.

The aroma of spices wasn't too strong,

so even those sensitive to the unique scent of spices

can enjoy it without a problem.

The spiciness isn't overly intense, so even those who

can't handle very spicy food will find it agreeable.

I especially enjoyed the small clams, which were perfectly salty.

Paired with a glass of Yantai Gaoliang Liquor, it was a perfect match.
