Heading to Weihai, China? The Hanlefang Night Market is a must-visit!
Prepare your taste buds for an unforgettable culinary adventure with delicious street food and snacks. 😍
Even if you're not usually a big fan of snacks, the Hanlefang Night Market in Weihai will change your mind. I loved it so much that I visited some stalls multiple times! This market is truly a foodie paradise.
Let me guide you through the best sights, sounds, and especially the incredible food and snacks at Weihai's Hanlefang Night Market.
For your navigation apps, the Chinese name for Hanlefang Night Market is 韩乐坊夜市 ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
Weihai Hanlefang Night Market: Your Go-To for Food & Snacks

You might be surprised by how clean and well-maintained the Hanlefang Night Market is! It's a fantastic spot for both dining and entertainment (≧∇≦)ノ
The market is quite expansive, so you won't feel overwhelmed by crowds. The spacious layout between stalls makes for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

First up on your Weihai Hanlefang Night Market food list: Northeast Uncle's Guobaorou (crispy sweet and sour pork) 😆! This dish was so incredibly delicious and perfectly crispy that I went back for it almost every day during my trip to Weihai. Plus, the stall was impeccably clean – a major bonus!
A small cup costs ~$3, and a large cup is ~$3. The portions are generous, making it a perfect snack or late-night bite.
I'll link a more detailed review of this amazing Guobaorou from Hanlefang Night Market below!

Next, prepare for the unbelievably tasty Malalongxia (spicy stir-fried crayfish) that had my taste buds singing! 👏🏻
At the Hanlefang Night Market, you'll find a place called Congcong Lobster Seafood (총총롱샤 聪聪龙虾). This spot is famous for its Malalongxia and various skewers!
You could easily enjoy a full meal at Congcong Lobster Seafood before exploring the market's other snacks.
The Malalongxia here is huge, flavorful, and incredibly fresh, and it's much more affordable than what you'd find back home. The staff are friendly, and everything from the lamb skewers to the chicken skewers was absolutely delicious. 🤤

Our third Weihai Hanlefang Night Market food recommendation is Tanyu, known for its incredible Kaoyu (grilled fish stew) (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
Tanyu is a popular chain, so you might find it elsewhere, but it's an excellent choice for lunch or dinner at the Hanlefang Night Market. Their fish stew is a must-try!
The portions are massive and satisfying, and the restaurant is comfortable, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal.
Kaoyu can be quite pricey in many countries, but here you can enjoy it at a fantastic value. 👍
Just a heads-up: if you opt for the regular soy sauce flavor, you might find yourself craving something stronger – I recommend going for the spicy Mala flavor to keep things exciting! 😂

China is renowned for its skewers, and the Hanlefang Night Market certainly doesn't disappoint with a fantastic array of meat skewers!
Generally, most skewer stalls here are excellent, so you're likely to have a good experience no matter where you choose to grab a bite.
However, if you're unsure about the ingredients of a particular skewer, it might be best to stick to what you know. Some of the more unique flavors can be quite an adventure for the uninitiated! 😅

Beyond the individual stalls, you'll also find plenty of open-air eateries, similar to Korean pojangmacha (street food tents), where you can sit down and savor a variety of Chinese dishes. Weihai has become quite a popular destination, attracting many young local Chinese visitors!
Since it was my first time visiting Weihai, I didn't quite work up the courage to try the pojangmacha experience, but I definitely plan to next time!
Weihai Hanlefang Night Market: Entertainment, Souvenirs & Gifts

As a vibrant night market, Hanlefang offers much more than just food and snacks – you'll discover a fantastic selection of goods, souvenirs, and gifts!
From clothing and accessories to unique commemorative items, there's plenty to browse and enjoy. It's a treasure trove for finding something special to remember your trip by.
My friend even bought a magnetic souvenir here, and we were pleasantly surprised by the fair pricing. You can definitely find some great keepsakes without feeling overcharged. 😉

Throughout Hanlefang, you'll notice quite a bit of Korean signage, and the vendors are generally very friendly, making for a welcoming and fun night market experience (☆▽☆)
This Weihai night market is popular with both tourists and local Chinese residents, which means a diverse array of delicious food and unique souvenirs to choose from – a win-win!

I've shared a comprehensive guide to the Weihai Hanlefang Night Market, covering everything from must-try food and snacks to exciting entertainment and unique souvenirs.
The Hanlefang Night Market is surprisingly clean and incredibly spacious, so you can explore without feeling rushed or tired.
With so many delicious food options and fascinating things to see, it's an absolutely fantastic place to spend an evening. 😍
Dongbei Ahjussi Guobaorou costs 17 CNY for a small cup (~$3) and 21 CNY for a large cup (~$3). The portion is generous, reportedly enough for a snack or a late-night meal.
Chongchong Longxia is a popular restaurant selling Mala Longxia (spicy crawfish) and various skewers. Its Mala Longxia is characterized by being large, delicious, meaty, and more affordable than in Korea, with friendly staff.
When ordering Kaoyu (steamed fish) at Tan Yu, the Mala flavor is recommended. Eating it with the regular soy sauce flavor might make you miss kimchi and could become a bit tiresome.
Based on experiences purchasing goods like magnets at Hanlakbang Night Market, the prices are said to be fair and not overpriced. You can also browse various clothes, apparel, and general merchandise.
