Where the Mala Lobster is Absolutely Delicious: <Congcong Lobster 聪聪龙虾>
I was really craving some delicious Mala Lobster in Weihai,
and after searching through reviews, it turns out there's a super famous spot
at Hanlebang Night Market!
So, I made sure to visit it during my Weihai trip,
and honestly, it was so incredibly delicious it brought tears to my eyes!
Ugh... I want to go back to Weihai just to eat this again 🤤
On Gaode Maps (Amap), you'll find it listed with both English and Chinese names:
✅Congcong Lobster Seafood Barbecue
✅聪聪龙虾 You can search for it like this~

Congcong Lobster, a fantastic spot at Weihai's Hanlebang Night Market,
boasts a super spacious and comfortable interior, making it a truly pleasant place to dine!
Not only tourists like me, but also lots of locals were enjoying
meals and even company dinners there haha.
The staff were incredibly friendly too, which just made me a total happy camper,
especially since it was my first time visiting Weihai... 💕
While not precisely confirmed, Congcong Lobster's operating hours seem to be
from 4:30 PM to 11:00 PM
(it appears they only open for dinner and late-night snacks!).

Ordering is super easy – just use the QR code at each table!
The Alipay app even automatically translates the menu, so no worries there!
Anyway, our mission was Mala Lobster and lamb skewers! 💕
And the prices? A total steal compared to Korea!
Just a heads-up, some skewers require a minimum order of 5,
so make sure to double-check before ordering haha.
Mala Lobster 98 CNY / Steamed Rice 3 CNY
Lamb Skewers (5 pcs) 22.5 CNY
Quail Skewers / Lamb Rib Skewers (?)

Since I visited Congcong Lobster as my dinner spot at Weihai's Hanlebang Night Market,
I ordered Mala Lobster and a bowl of rice!
They say eating steamed rice with the Mala Lobster sauce is absolutely divine,
so I had to try it myself, haha!
First off, the visual of the Mala Lobster completely blew me away!
So plump and juicy, and all for just ~$15?! ㅠㅠ

The owner thoughtfully provided an apron and plastic gloves,
so I could dig in without making a mess, haha!

It's full-on Mala Lobster time... Oh, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! ❤️
Mala Lobster is a spicy dish made with freshwater crawfish,
and these crawfish were incredibly plump and meaty,
offering so much more to eat than any I've had in Korea!
Weihai is a coastal city known for its seafood,
and it really showed – these crawfish were absolutely delicious! 👏🏻
Of course, once you remove the heads and shells, there isn't a *ton* left,
but the mala seasoning sauce was unbelievably good,
so I just devoured it all in a frenzy! ㅠ.ㅠ
The crayfish and mala sauce truly complemented each other so well,
and when we dipped rice into it? It was pure heaven, I tell you!
If you're ever planning a trip to Weihai, you absolutely HAVE to visit Chongchong Longxia
and make sure to try their Mala Longxia! I wholeheartedly recommend it!!!!!!!!

We also ordered some lamb skewers, and I believe the minimum order was five pieces.
But they were so incredibly delicious, they vanished in an instant!
Just a heads-up, the Mala Longxia alone isn't quite enough to fully satisfy two people,
so we ended up ordering lamb skewers too, haha!
The cumin seasoning and other spices were already perfectly applied when they arrived,
so all we had to do was dig in! And truly, when it comes to authentic lamb skewers,
it's no wonder China is considered the home of lamb skewers; they were unbelievably delicious!
The lamb was incredibly tender, and the cumin seasoning was just divine.
I came for the Mala Longxia, but it turns out it's a lamb skewer paradise too! ❤️
I think we ordered both regular lamb skewers and lamb rib skewers,
but the classic lamb skewers definitely stole the show, haha!

We also tried the quail skewers just out of curiosity because they seemed so unique.
They were tasty, but a bit tricky to eat and didn't separate easily,
so, if I go back, I probably wouldn't order them again, to be honest!
However, it was a cool experience to try quail skewers, which aren't common in Korea,
and they had a flavor similar to a crispier,
electric-roasted chicken, so of course, they were still incredibly tasty! 😍
Seriously, EVERY single item we ordered at Chongchong Longxia was delicious,
making it an unbelievably happy dinner that almost brought tears to my eyes, haha!
