Weihai Airport Didi Taxi Guide 2026: Finding Your Pickup

I landed at Weihai Airport on June 11, 2026. Having used Didi Taxi during my Chongqing trip, I expected a similar experience, but it turned out to be quite different here!

Weihai Airport: A Surprisingly Strict Atmosphere

Weihai Airport operates as a dual-use civil and military airport. Due to its military functions, photography is restricted for security reasons. I even received an announcement to close my window blinds during landing! This made taking photos inside the airport feel a bit uncomfortable.

I only started snapping pictures after I had cleared immigration and exited the arrival hall.

From the Airport to the Didi Zone: My Walkthrough

At Chongqing Airport, you'd typically find clear signs for "Call Hailing Service" indicating Didi Taxi pickup. Weihai, however, is a different story. There are no dedicated signs inside the airport. You'll need to head outside to find your way.

Once you exit the airport building, you'll see the parking lot. From here, facing forward, you'll want to move to your right.

Keep walking straight ahead to your right. With my luggage in tow, this stretch felt a bit longer than I expected.

When you spot a sign on the opposite side that reads "Weihai Youth Friendship City," you're almost there! Seeing this sign was a real relief.

Next, you'll see two prominent signs, one blue and one orange. Your destination is toward the orange sign.

The blue sign indicates the area for regular taxis and rental cars. Just walk past it, and you're practically there.

From the airport exit, it's about an 8-minute walk to reach the orange Didi zone. Considering I was pulling luggage, it's not an unreasonable distance at all.

Because this is a designated Didi Taxi pickup zone, cars are incredibly quick to arrive. I was amazed to see a driver arriving in under 3 minutes!

To Tianmu Hot Spring Resort: 40 yuan / 30-40 minutes

I headed straight to Tianmu Hot Spring Resort. The Didi ride took about 30-40 minutes and cost 40 yuan. It was a direct route, bypassing the city center.

Most travelers to Weihai will likely head to the city center first, but if you're going directly to Tianmu Hot Spring like I did, you can use this time and price as a helpful reference!

Final Thoughts

Unlike Chongqing, Weihai Airport doesn't have internal Didi Taxi signs. You'll need to exit the airport and navigate towards the general taxi zone to locate the specific Didi pickup area.

Knowing this beforehand will save you from confusion if it's your first time. Keep this in mind as you plan your Weihai adventure!
