Day 3 of our Phu Quoc trip.

We got an early start today because we had a big adventure ahead of us.

We were staying at a resort in the southern part of the island,

but today's itinerary took us all the way up north.

While planning our Phu Quoc getaway,

one of the experiences I was anticipating the most

was visiting Vinpearl Safari.

so we decided to book a private car with a driver

for the entire day.

Our itinerary was pretty ambitious:

King Kong Mart → Night Market → Dinner → Back to Hotel

The central area gets quite busy with traffic,

so having a dedicated driver waiting for us

made the whole day incredibly smooth.

I cannot recommend this enough if you're traveling with family.

When you add up the cost of multiple long-distance rides,

a full-day private car rental

actually turns out to be a much better value.

If you have a lot of bags or need to keep the kids comfortable,

it gives you so much more flexibility.

Our driver even recommended a great little cafe along the way.

The scenic drive up the coast is gorgeous,

so the journey itself felt like part of the adventure.

2. Park Entry Hacks

Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc is

Vietnam's largest wildlife conservation park.

Because it's so massive, knowing a few tricks beforehand

will save you a lot of hassle.

Buy your tickets online in advance.

We just scanned our QR codes at the gate and walked right in.

Skipping the long ticket lines was a huge win.

Hack #2.

Book a ticket that includes the Zoo Tram.

I cannot stress this enough.

The park is way bigger than you think,

and walking the whole thing will drain your energy fast.

Hack #3.

Visit in the morning.

As temperatures rise into the 90s (Fahrenheit) in the afternoon,

most animals retreat into the shade to nap.

The morning hours are much more comfortable for exploring.

3. The Zoo Tram Experience

After a quick stroll near the entrance,

we immediately hopped on the Zoo Tram.

Honestly, this was one of the highlights

of our entire Vinpearl Safari experience.

At first, I wondered if we could just walk the grounds,

but the scale of this place is no joke.

It is incredibly vast.

The hop-on, hop-off nature of the tram

made navigating the different zones a breeze.

It’s a game-changer for conserving energy,

especially if you're wrangling kids all day.

We stopped to check out the reptile house,

marveled at the elephants,

and took our time snapping photos without feeling rushed.

My absolute favorite part was the Giraffe Zone.

Seeing them in person is completely different from looking at photos.

They are majestic, and getting so close to them was surreal.

It's easy to see why this area is a crowd favorite.

Thanks to the Zoo Tram,

we were able to enjoy the park at a relaxed pace without burning out.

4. The Safari Bus

I originally planned to just stick to the Zoo Tram.

But my family really wanted to do the Safari Bus,

so we decided to give it a go.

I'm so glad we did!

The bus takes you straight through the predator

and large herbivore enclosures from the safety of an air-conditioned vehicle.

Pro-tip for the best view:

Sit on the left side, toward the back (behind the driver).

The visibility from there was fantastic.

We actually had a much better view from the back than the front row.

The ride itself is surprisingly thrilling.

It kept the kids fully engaged, and even the adults were captivated.

Plus, the blasting AC

provided a much-needed break from the tropical heat!
