Planning a trip to Phu Quoc? Get an insider's look at Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc, from its spacious rooms to fantastic pools and breakfast.
When you're planning your perfect getaway to Phu Quoc, deciding where to stay can be a delightful dilemma. You might consider the northern Vinpearl resorts, the luxurious options in the south, or perhaps something more central, like the vibrant tourist street or the Sonasea area.
For my most recent trip, I chose to stay in the heart of the island, right next to the Novotel Resort, at the fantastic Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc.
📍 Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc
Đường Bào, Phú Quốc, Kien Giang 920000 Vietnam
This prime location in the Sonasea area puts you right in the middle of all the action, yet still offers a tranquil retreat.
Check-in and Check-out Experience

Check-in was a breeze, accompanied by a refreshing welcome tea. While the official check-in time is 3:00 PM, I arrived a bit earlier and was promptly accommodated, which was a great start to the stay. Check-out is at 12:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely morning.

A pleasant surprise during check-in was discovering that the hotel offers a shuttle bus service to and from the airport. If the timings work out for your flight, it’s a convenient and stress-free option to consider.
Rooms, Bathrooms, and Terraces

The rooms at Best Western Premier Phu Quoc were impeccably clean and well-maintained. Each room boasts an ocean-view terrace, offering a serene spot to relax. A standout feature was the inclusion of a kitchen, reminiscent of an Airbnb setup. While I didn't personally cook during my stay, it's a fantastic amenity for those who prefer to prepare their own meals or simply want the convenience of a fridge and microwave.

The bathroom and toilet facilities were also excellent. A unique design element was the glass partition separating the bathroom from the bedroom. Don't worry about privacy – there are blinds you can pull down. Interestingly, you can see into the bedroom from the bathroom, but the reverse view is obscured, maintaining a sense of privacy in the sleeping area.

Just like this!

From the room's terrace, you get lovely views of both the ocean and the swimming pools below. A thoughtful touch was the inclusion of a drying rack for clothes, which is incredibly handy for drying swimsuits and beachwear after a day in the water.
Pools and Other Facilities

No Phu Quoc hotel or resort experience is complete without a fantastic pool, and Best Western Premier certainly delivers! Head out from the lobby towards the back, and you'll find yourself on the path to the main pool areas and the beach.

As you walk away from the Best Western Premier building and towards the ocean...

You'll encounter the first pool area, complete with a fantastic kids' play zone, perfect for families traveling with little ones.

Continue along the path towards the beach, and you'll discover even more.

Here, you'll find yet another swimming pool and direct access to the beach. While some visitors enjoy soaking up the sun on the sand, the tropical sun can be quite intense. Unless you're specifically aiming for a deep tan, you might prefer the shade by the pool!
Breakfast at Best Western Premier Phu Quoc

The breakfast spread offered a delightful array of dishes, from standard international options to a particularly impressive selection of breads. They had an entire section dedicated to various pastries and loaves!

I especially appreciated the thoughtful setup at the pho station, with two different broth options and a convenient container for fresh lime. I tried both the chicken and beef pho, and surprisingly, the chicken pho was the winner for me – even though I usually prefer beef! It was incredibly flavorful.
Wrapping Up My Phu Quoc Stay

In the evenings, if you're looking for a bit more activity, you can stroll over to the Sonasea area. There are plenty of casual eateries and bars where you can grab a bite or a refreshing drink. It's a great option for a relaxed evening after a day of sightseeing, allowing you to explore local flavors and soak in the ambiance.
Overall, the Best Western Premier Phu Quoc was a wonderfully clean and comfortable hotel. It truly stood out with its thoughtful amenities and attention to detail, making it a fantastic choice for any traveler to Phu Quoc.
The official check-in time is 3 PM, and check-out is at 12 PM (noon). According to the article, immediate check-in was possible even when arriving earlier than 3 PM.
The rooms are equipped with an ocean-view terrace and a kitchen, similar to an Airbnb. Additionally, the bathroom and bedroom are separated by a glass wall, but it can be covered with blinds, and the structure is designed so that only the bedroom is visible from the bathroom.
Chicken pho and beef pho are offered for breakfast. The article's author personally mentioned that the chicken pho was more delicious.
The hotel has a total of two pools. If you go from the lobby towards the back entrance, you'll find the first pool and a children's playground. Following this path further will lead you to the second pool and the beach.
