The heart of a free-and-easy trip to Phu Quoc,
Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc, where you can dine while watching giraffes at the Giraffe Restaurant,
is where I recently visited!
I'll share a Vinpearl Safari price comparison, suggested routes, and even how much time you'll need.
📍 Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc
Bãi Dài, Phú Quốc, An Giang 922200 Vietnam
While the official opening time is 09:00,
I had a zookeeper experience (for kids) booked starting at 08:30,
so I got to enter before the main queue.
Typically, entry starts at 9 AM,
so it's a great first activity to jump into right after breakfast!
Once you enter, you'll spot the Flamingo area where flamingos live, and if you head right, you can reach the station to catch the Zoo Tram.
I purchased a package ticket from Klook that included:
admission + zoo tram + a free meal voucher.
If you want to exclude the meal voucher or skip the tram,
you could technically just buy an admission ticket + meal voucher.
However, the ZOO area is quite extensive, so taking the tram is highly recommended... seriously!
If you're going to take the tram anyway, the price difference isn't much,
so if you purchase a package including the meal voucher,
you can use it at the Rhino Restaurant / Flamingo Restaurant / Giraffe Restaurant
/ Crocodile Kiosk / Bird Area Kiosk.
We used ours for a delicious strawberry shake at the Flamingo Restaurant.

The animals you can see in the ZOO area after entering
can be viewed from the open-sided tram or on foot.
Since it's quite large, you can alight from the tram and re-board later,
so it's a good idea to buy a ticket that includes the tram.
The SAFARI area is home to many dangerous predators,
so you'll view them from a dedicated bus.
(Of course, alighting is not allowed... unless you want to become lion food!)
Getting Your Tram Exchange Voucher & Riding the Tram
If you purchased an admission ticket that includes the tram,
you can exchange your ticket for a tram wristband at the Happy Snack stand in front of the tram queue.
Just show the QR code you received with your admission ticket.
The process is quite straightforward! Just put on your wristband, join the tram queue,
and board the tram when it arrives.
Between the buggies and now this, I've used so many modes of transport in Phu Quoc that are neither motorcycles nor cars!
While you're not up close, there's a unique joy in observing the animals from a distance.
Remember how I mentioned you can hop on and off the tram?
The first stop for disembarkation is the Reptile House.
Here, you'll find snakes, lizards, and other species that you might commonly see elsewhere, but...
The reason you absolutely MUST visit this spot... is the crocodiles!!!
Just like in the movie Peter Pan, you'll see crocodiles with their mouths agape beneath a bridge,
and you can even pay to throw chicken to them, which is quite an experience!
It was thrilling just to watch, sending shivers down my spine!
It's a sight you'll only encounter at Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc,
so make sure to hop off and take it all in!
Once you've explored the reptile exhibit, a short walk will bring you to the next tram stop,
and guess what? You can spot some magnificent elephants here!
Doesn't it look like a charming teenage elephant, somewhere between a calf and an adult?
They were quite close to the visitors, so even without offering food,
we got to see them up close and personal!
And finally, we arrived at what's practically the symbol of Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc,
the incredible Giraffe Restaurant!
Many reviews mentioned that if you visit in the afternoon, the giraffes tend to be full and less likely to approach,
but even though we went in the afternoon,
plenty of hungry giraffes came right up to us, so we had a blast feeding them!
Our Klook tickets even included a meal voucher,
so it might be a great idea to grab a meal here before you embark on the safari ride.
Last Stop: The Safari-Exclusive Bus
After leaving the Giraffe Restaurant, you'll board the safari bus
and journey into the heart of the jungle kingdom!
We ended up waiting quite a while for the safari bus,
and it really seemed like Phu Quoc attracts far more Indian tourists than Korean or Chinese visitors.
A friend who visited earlier warned me that some Indian visitors tend to cut lines quite aggressively,
and wow, they were really shamelessly pushing their way through!
We held our ground and kept our spot, so make sure to stand firm and don't let anyone push you out! Phew!
People often say that sitting on the left side gives you the best views,
but hey, these are wild animals! They roam around, so honestly, it doesn't make a huge difference where you sit.
My friend even witnessed a rare and truly incredible sight – a rhino fight breaking out right before their eyes!
While it was a bit disappointing that the lion was sleeping, watching the Asiatic black bear bathe was absolutely adorable...
We even got to see zebras up close and in incredible detail!

Entered the safari: 12:00 PM
The safari bus ride itself lasted about 30 minutes,
Out at 12:40 PM
So, we spent a fantastic couple of hours there in the morning,
before heading back to our resort for a refreshing swim!
I think I would have felt a little regretful if we had only stayed at the resort,
which made Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc an absolutely worthwhile visit!
The Zookeeper Experience at Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc starts at 8:30 AM. Booking this experience allows you to enter earlier than the general admission time of 9:00 AM.
The package purchased through Klook includes an admission ticket, a zoo tram ride ticket, and a free meal voucher. The meal voucher can be used at restaurants such as Rhino Restaurant, Flamingo Restaurant, and Giraffe Restaurant.
At the Reptile House, you can see crocodiles with their mouths open beneath a bridge. A paid feeding experience, where you can throw chicken, is also available.
