The Immigration Department under Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security
to streamline entry for foreign visitors to Vietnam,
is piloting a pre-arrival declaration system called
Pre-Arrival Information (PAI).
Before you even set foot in Vietnam by air,
details like your passport, flight information, and accommodation
can be conveniently submitted online in advance.
While it initially launched at a select few airports,
the number of airports participating in the pilot program has now expanded!

Who Needs to Complete the Da Nang Entry Declaration?
This pre-arrival declaration applies to
foreign visitors arriving in Vietnam.
Vietnamese citizens and transit passengers are exempt.
It's recommended to complete it within 72 hours of your planned arrival,
so it's best to fill it out once your flight and accommodation are confirmed,
and definitely before you depart.

You can complete the online declaration on the Vietnam Immigration Department's
official website.
To avoid the risk of personal data leakage from scam websites,
it's crucial to double-check the URL before you access the site.
How to Fill Out Vietnam's Electronic Entry Declaration Form
1. Access the Website, Fill Out and Submit Pre-Arrival Information
Once you're on the official website,
select your preferred language from the top right corner.
Then, click on the blue button that says 'Fill out and submit pre-arrival information'.
2. Enter CAPTCHA and Nationality
After completing the CAPTCHA verification, enter your nationality.
You can easily find it by simply typing 'KO' in English.
3. Enter Passenger Information
The estimated arrival date will be displayed for the next 3 days,
and if you take a photo of your passport, your details will be automatically populated.
Please enter your country code, phone number, and email address.
4. Enter Visa Information
After checking the checkbox,
please select 'Visa Exemption (Single Entry)' for Visa Type/Purpose.
If there's a date automatically entered in the 'Issue Date',
you can delete that date and proceed to the next step.
If you're registering companions, you can use 'Add Passenger'.
5. Enter Travel Information
· Place of Departure Before Arriving in Vietnam: Republic of Korea
· Purpose of Travel: Tourism
· Mode of Transportation: Air
· Flight Code: Search for your flight, or select 'Other' if not found
· Border Checkpoint: Arrival Airport
· Type of Accommodation in Vietnam: Select the relevant type
· Province, District, Accommodation Address: Enter your booked accommodation
· Estimated Departure Date: Your departure date from Vietnam
6. Confirm Submission Information
Before moving to the next step,
confirm the entered information is correct, then submit.
A code will be sent to your email.
7. Save QR Code
Once submitted, you'll receive your application details via email,
and you can download the QR code.
✔️ While you can use the internet at the local airport,
saving it as a PDF or taking a screenshot beforehand
will make entry even more convenient.

When filling out the Vietnam entry declaration form,
there are a few things to keep in mind.

Things to Know Before Entering Da Nang
Those who haven't declared beforehand can use kiosks at the airport
to fill it out on-site, but this may delay immigration.
For my trip to Da Nang this time, I entered via standard immigration.
· 2:32 AM: Arrived at Da Nang Airport and proceeded to immigration
· 2:47 AM: Waited for immigration
· 3:07 AM: Immigration completed
About 30 minutes after arriving at the airport,
I completed immigration and moved to collect my luggage.
However, immigration waiting times
can vary depending on arrival time and the number of arriving passengers.
