A Hidden Gem for Remote Workers in Da Nang

As a travel blogger and remote worker, finding the perfect workspace on the road is always a top priority. While some creators can easily work from their hotel rooms, I find myself craving a change of scenery to really get into the zone. Usually, that means scouting out local coffee shops.

When I'm hunting for the ultimate work-friendly cafe, I look for a few key things.

First, it shouldn't be overly crowded. A gentle hum of white noise is great, but a chaotic, noisy space is an absolute dealbreaker. I want to feel relaxed, not rushed.

Because of this, I tend to avoid major global chains. Instead, I look for spacious, independent local spots. Tiny cafes are charming, but staying there for hours feels a bit intrusive, and you end up hearing everyone's conversations. A larger, airy local spot is always the sweet spot.

On my recent trip to Da Nang, I found a place that checked every single box—and then some. Let's dive in.

This is XLIII Specialty Coffee. The striking high ceilings and massive glass facade make it impossible to miss. The reflective glass design gives the building an incredibly sleek, modern aesthetic that immediately draws you in.

Inside, the sense of scale is even more impressive. The open-plan layout and soaring ceiling create an incredibly airy, bright atmosphere, while the floor-to-ceiling glass walls bring the outside world right to your table.

Since it's nestled in a vibrant expat neighborhood, the cafe attracts a global crowd. I noticed several digital nomads with laptops open, deeply focused on their work in this calm, inspiring setting.

First, I headed to the counter to order. The setup is highly professional, allowing you to choose your specific beans and preferred brewing method. As I browsed, one particular bean caught my eye. It was priced at 500,000 VND (about ~$18) for a single cup. In Vietnam, where local coffee is famously cheap, this was an astronomical price tag. And no, it wasn't even Luwak or Weasel coffee!

My curiosity was instantly piqued.

Under normal circumstances, I might have hesitated to spend ~$19 on a single cup of coffee. But as a travel creator, I justified it as research for a great story.

With that perfect excuse in mind, I went ahead and ordered it.

I picked a spot at the large communal table. When you're looking to get work done, these expansive, solid tables are unbeatable for spreading out your laptop, notebook, and accessories.

(They also have smaller, semi-private rooms, which were already occupied by other focused remote workers.)

Shortly after, the barista came over to my table to explain the origin and tasting notes of my chosen beans. They even let me sample the dry aroma before brewing. Seeing their genuine passion and pride for the craft immediately washed away any doubts about the price. I couldn't wait to try it.

Here it is—the ~$18 cup of coffee. It was served with scientific precision in a glass beaker, emphasizing a minimalist focus on the liquid itself rather than fancy presentation cups.

And the taste? Absolutely exceptional. It had a beautifully bright, clean acidity that set it worlds apart from your average brew. I used to prefer low-acid coffees, but as I've explored the world of specialty coffee, I've fallen in love with the complex, fruity profiles of light roasts.

I spent a productive afternoon chipping away at my to-do list, occasionally pausing to play with the friendly resident cafe cat. Once I finished my premium brew, I decided to order a second, more modestly priced cup to keep the momentum going.

The second cup was perfectly fine on its own, but coming right after that extraordinary first cup, it felt a bit lackluster by comparison. It's the classic curse of starting with the absolute best!

Overall, between the world-class coffee, the stunning architecture, and the peaceful, productive atmosphere, this is easily one of the best cafes to work from in Da Nang.
