relying solely on an "open run" strategy and Single Rider lines, all without needing any expensive passes!

How to Get to USJ from Namba Station

When heading to USJ from Namba Station, the Hanshin Namba Line is the most convenient option.

From Namba Station, take the Hanshin Line train to 'Nishikujo Station',

then transfer to the JR Yumesaki Line and alight at 'Universal City Station'.

The transfer process isn't complicated, and the signs are well-marked, so you'll find your way easily.

My "Open Run" Experience

This is what it looked like when I arrived at 8:10 AM.

After getting through bag check, it was around 8:30 AM.

When you queue up again in front of the entrance, I recommend aiming for the innermost lines.

Not many people head to the inner lines, so the queue is relatively shorter,

and there's a restroom right behind, making it convenient to pop over!

Make sure to use the restroom beforehand while you're waiting in line!

As soon as the park opened at 9 AM, I immediately ran towards Nintendo World.

It took about 10 minutes to run all the way to Nintendo World.

Thanks to my "open run" straight to Nintendo World, I was able to enter without needing a separate

timed entry ticket or lottery ticket.

This is the golden hour to enter Nintendo World without a timed entry ticket, lottery ticket, or Express Pass.

When I left Nintendo World around 11:30 AM, they were already checking for timed entry tickets at the entrance.

Single Rider Options and Review

For those visiting USJ alone, the best system to use is the Single Rider line!

It's a system where single guests fill empty seats first.

For Donkey Kong, the regular wait time was an astounding 250 minutes,

but thanks to the Single Rider line, I was able to get on in just 1 hour.

Immediately after, for Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge, I also saved a lot of time by waiting only 50 minutes,

thanks to the Single Rider line.

Afterwards, I was able to enjoy five attractions in the morning: The Flying Dinosaur, Jurassic Park – The Ride, and Minion Mayhem, all with wait times of around 10 minutes or less.

Jurassic Park – The Ride splashes a lot of water.

If you try to buy a poncho at USJ, it costs 500 yen.

I highly recommend buying a ~$1 poncho from Daiso beforehand!

Afterwards, I rode Hollywood Dream – The Ride, Hollywood Dream – The Ride Backdrop (this one doesn't operate a Single Rider line), Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Flight of the Hippogriff. All of them, except for Hollywood Dream – The Ride Backdrop which doesn't offer a Single Rider option, had wait times of around 10 minutes or less.

Thanks to utilizing both 'open run' (arriving before opening) and 'Single Rider,' I was able to enjoy most of the attractions by 6 PM and leave with plenty of time to spare.

For that iconic photo in front of the globe, I recommend taking it when you leave in the afternoon, as there will be fewer people then!

Restaurant Recommendations

While the restaurants inside USJ are known for their appealing looks, they're also famous for their pretty 'wicked' prices.

Located in the New York Area, 'Louis N.Y. Pizza' is a restaurant where you can enjoy a relatively reasonable meal.

The salty New York-style pizza is delicious! It's a flavor familiar to many, so everyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy it comfortably.

The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, and there are even many optimized spots for solo diners.

If the weather's nice, eating outdoors would be fantastic too.

Heading over to the Harry Potter area, I also tried the famous Butterbeer.

It had a sweet, smooth caramel flavor, which I absolutely loved!
