Topas Ecolodge Sapa Review,
From Shuttle Booking to the Rooms

Hi everyone, it's Moarang! :)
During my trip to Sapa, Vietnam,
I stayed at an incredibly eco-friendly resort for one night.
Today, I’m excited to share all about this magical place.
What is Sapa, Vietnam like?

Sapa, Vietnam is often called the 'Switzerland of Vietnam.'
As it sits at a high altitude of over 1,600 meters (5,200 feet) above sea level,
it stays wonderfully cool in the mornings and evenings even in mid-summer,
while winter gets cold enough to require thick puffer jackets and even brings snow.
From March to May, the weather is beautifully mild, averaging 15–20°C (59–68°F),
and from September to early October, the rice terraces reach their golden harvest peak,
making it the absolute best time to catch breathtaking views.
While June to August is the rainy season and technically the off-peak period,
the cooler temperatures make it the perfect destination
for escaping the scorching summer heat.
Topas Ecolodge

I spent my first night in Sapa town at the KK Hotel,
but when deciding where to spend my second night,
I had this strong urge to escape
deeper into the mountains.
That’s exactly how I discovered Topas Ecolodge.
Location & How to Get There via Shuttle Bus

Topas Ecolodge is tucked deep inside the mountains,
about a 30-minute drive from downtown Sapa.
Walking there is out of the question,
so you'll need to take the lodge's shuttle or arrange private transport.
The resort operates a complimentary shuttle bus,
but it only runs once a day on a fixed schedule.
📌 Downtown Sapa → Topas Ecolodge: Departs at 2:00 PM
📌 Topas Ecolodge → Downtown Sapa: Departs at 10:00 AM

📍 Topas Ecolodge Office
15 Lê Văn Tám, Sa Pa, Lào Cai, Vietnam
The pickup point is the
Topas Ecolodge office in town,
located at 15 Le Van Tam.
It's very close to Sapa Lake.
Make sure to arrive at least 10 minutes before departure,
and you absolutely must book the shuttle in advance.
Once you've booked your room,
simply send a message to the resort to request a seat!!
If you just show up on the day without a booking,
you might not be able to board, so please secure this early.
Schedules can occasionally change,
so it's always a good idea to double-check before your trip.
From Town to Mountains: The Journey Itself is Thrilling
Once you hop on the shuttle from the downtown pickup spot,
you'll wind up the mountain roads for about 30 minutes.
Watching the scenery outside the window slowly shift
is where the healing journey truly begins.
Terraced fields appear, forests grow denser,
and the air feels completely different from the city.
Honestly, just this 30-minute ride alone
made the entire trip feel incredibly rewarding.
However, if you get motion sickness, definitely pack some medicine.
The mountain roads are quite winding!
Check-in & Welcome Tea with a Killer View

And we have arrived at Topas Ecolodge!!
As you wait in the lobby,
they greet you with refreshing welcome tea and a warm towel.

But wow, the mountain view through the floor-to-ceiling lobby windows
was absolutely breathtaking.
Sipping my tea and taking in that scenery,
I instantly knew choosing this place was the best decision.
After checking in, you’ll hop onto a buggy
to head deeper into the resort toward your room.
The staff will deliver your suitcases
right to your room by buggy,
so you can just leave them in their hands.
When checking out, just leave your bags in the room and they'll pick them up for you.
Premium Executive Room Review

I booked the Premium Executive Room,
which is the entry-level room at Topas Ecolodge.

We booked a twin room, and the beds were incredibly comfortable,
and I couldn't believe we were deep in the mountains
because the water pressure was way better than expected!

The hot water worked perfectly, too.
All the essential amenities were fully stocked,
and they also had a hair dryer and cozy bathrobes in the bathroom.

You can wear these bathrobes when heading down to the pool.

Pretty much everyone was walking around in them lol

Since it gets quite dark around the property at night,
they even provided a flashlight,
along with umbrellas, as this area gets a lot of rain.
You can really tell they thought of all the little details.

And check out this stunning view from our balcony!!

They even had real tea leaves and energy bars!

There was tea provided in the room,
and it was actual whole tea leaves, not just tea bags!!
It was perfectly in line with the resort's eco-friendly vibe,

and they also had these cute energy bars waiting for us as a snack.
I think these little details really show
what this resort is truly about.
It's a small touch, but it feels incredibly thoughtful.
I was so sad that we only stayed for one night.

Why I Booked on Agoda

I compared prices for Topas Ecolodge Sapa
across several different booking platforms,
and Agoda was the cheapest for the exact same room type.
It was true when I originally booked,
and even when I check now, Agoda still has the best rates.

Honest Tips & Areas for Improvement

Here's a quick summary of my top tips!

Final Thoughts
Staying only one night at Topas Ecolodge was my only real regret.
The air here is on a completely different level,
and the eco-friendly atmosphere
makes it the absolute perfect spot to unplug and heal.
While it's a bit tricky to get to since it's deep in the mountains,
it's truly the ultimate destination
if you're looking for absolute peace and quiet.
If you're visiting Sapa, Vietnam, you absolutely have to
experience a stay like this at least once!!
