Sapa Accommodation in Vietnam

When choosing an accommodation in Sapa, Vietnam, the biggest dilemma is whether to stay at a hotel with convenient facilities in the city center,
or to venture a little outside Sapa's bustling center and stay somewhere with picturesque views.
After much consideration, I decided to stay at an eco-friendly accommodation.

Eco Palms House is located about a 25-minute drive from Sapa town center.
However, when I visited, the roads were quite damaged, and with herds of cattle moving along, it took us around 35 minutes.
A taxi from Sapa town center to the accommodation usually costs around 200,000 VND.
Finally, we arrived at the gate of Eco Palms House. It was a bit less conspicuous than I expected, so our taxi driver drove past it slightly.
But staff quickly came out to help with our heavy luggage, and we moved to the reception without any hassle.

Adorable kittens welcoming guests at the reception!
I booked the accommodation through Agoda, and a "Standard Bungalow" costs around ~$90 per night.

While checking in, we were offered a welcome drink, snacks, and a refreshing towel.
I was deeply touched by the warm hospitality right from the entrance!
Room Tour: Standard Bungalow

We stayed in a Standard Bungalow.
To briefly describe the room, it features bamboo flooring and walls made from mud, emanating that wonderfully pleasant aroma characteristic of Southeast Asia.
Eating food in the room is prohibited. Please use the main restaurant!
When we made the reservation, we mentioned it was our honeymoon, so they even decorated the room beautifully for us.
(It wasn't actually our honeymoon!)

Placing the beanbag from the room onto the terrace, you can sit back and enjoy a variety of sights and sounds: the whistling wind across the valley, the sight of ripening rice fields, and the beautiful sunset.
Since the land right below the accommodation is an active rice paddy, you'll often hear the cheerful croaking of frogs.
Vietnamese traditional attire and props are available inside the room, so you can freely try them on and take photos.

The bathroom features a wooden bathtub, a washbasin, and a toilet.
The bathroom is quite spacious, but be careful as the floor can become slippery when wet.

While we were out for dinner, they even personally set up the mosquito net on the ceiling for us.
(A mystery, though, how they got in when the room was locked...?)
Swimming Pool
8:00 AM ~ 7:00 PM

The outdoor swimming pool is one of the many reasons people seek out Eco Palms House.
Especially on clear days, many photos are taken with the lush green mountains and clear skies as a backdrop.

However, I was greeted with a wild collaboration of squalls and cloudy weather.

By the sunbeds, you'll find **showers and restrooms**, as well as **life vests and arm tubes** readily available.
The swimming pool **gradually deepens as you move to the left**, reaching a maximum depth of approximately 1.8 meters.
Children should be careful not to fall in.
Dinner
~ 9:30 PM

Dinner Time: ~ 9:30 PM
In Sapa, the sun sets early, so it's recommended to have dinner at an earlier hour.

Eco Palms House Dinner Menu
A variety of dishes are available, including appetizers, salads, and soups.
While prices might be a bit higher than a typical local restaurant, they are still very affordable compared to Korean prices.
The **dinner menu is also available in Korean**, so you can order without any worries.
Check out the link below for the detailed menu!

25. Bamboo Tube Rice & Local Grilled Pork (~$6)
The rice cooked in bamboo had a delightful stickiness, and the pork had that kind of flavor **no Korean could ever dislike**.
I was craving more rice, so I ordered an extra serving.
Besides that, I ordered 8. Papaya Salad, 38. Deep Fried Wedges, and 4 alcoholic drinks (beer, wine, whiskey, etc.),
bringing the total to ~$32 (including 8% government tax and 5% service charge).
I ate until I was incredibly full, and the price was fantastic!!
For your information, the **dinner bill is settled upon checkout**.

Eco Palms House, a retreat from the city with harmless, eco-friendly views.
While some reviews mentioned many bugs, I personally didn't see any,
and there was **absolutely nothing to fault, from the swimming pool and dining facilities to the staff's attitude.**
However, the rice paddy view changes completely depending on the rainy season, harvest season, and when the rice is fully ripe, so **be sure to inquire with the accommodation** to enjoy the most beautiful view.
