When you think of Sapa accommodation, terraced rice field resorts probably come to mind. Before coming, I was dead set on booking a place with a lush green view, but once I started looking, I realized they were all quite far from the town center.
Of course, if your plan is to enjoy a relaxing hotel staycation in Sapa amidst those green views (I'll definitely go next time!), then a hotel in the town center is a much better choice if it's your first Sapa trip and you want to explore the city.
A Hotel with an Excellent Location in Sapa Town Center
When you visit Sapa, there's one place you absolutely *have* to get a photo at: Sun Plaza Sapa Station! What's great about Hotel de la Coupole Mgallery is that it's directly connected to Sun Plaza.
And what's inside Sun Plaza, you ask? You can access the cable car that goes up Fansipan and even a Starbucks where you can grab an iced Americano – all without stepping outside!

You might be looking for accommodation close to the sleeping bus or train, but the sleeping train station is an hour from the city, and sleeping buses usually offer hotel pick-up. So, there's no need to pick a hotel based solely on its proximity to transportation!

With plenty of restaurants nearby and the lake and night market just a short walk away, this hotel truly felt like the absolute heart of the city! 😄

Honestly, I think the condition of your accommodation is particularly important in Sapa, and here's why: the weather can be incredibly unpredictable.
It gets very foggy and, being a high-altitude area, it can be quite chilly. I often found myself feeling a bit under the weather, so I'd sometimes just relax at the hotel.
Also, arriving by train meant it was a very early morning, so an early check-in came with an extra fee. However, a fantastic perk is that you can use the pool before check-in, so the pool and shower facilities are available for free! 😂 (Though I did end up paying for early check-in to get into my room sooner).
Review of Hotel de la Coupole Mgallery Sapa
Deluxe Twin Room
One of Hotel de la Coupole Mgallery's advantages: early check-in availability!
With a 2 PM check-in and 12 PM check-out, I was immediately pleased with the generous amount of time available.

Upon arrival in the morning, I was welcomed with warm cocoa during check-in. For early check-in, the cost varies by arrival time, but for us, it was 50% of the one-night rate.

Being a 5-star hotel, the lobby is incredibly spacious with plenty of areas to relax. You could easily leave your luggage, take a break, grab some brunch, and then come back to check in.

As soon as I stepped into my Sapa accommodation, my first thought was 'Wow, this is huge!' Both the hotel's overall scale and the individual rooms felt quite large.
Upon entering, there's a full-length mirror by the entrance, and the bathroom behind it was also very clean. With a separate shower booth, separate sink area, and separate toilet, the segmented space made it feel much more expansive, and the amenities were quite good to use!

There's also a space to put your luggage and bathrobes provided, which were perfect for wearing to the pool!

The striking pops of color were quite impressive, living up to the boutique hotel vibe.
While some might have mixed feelings, I personally didn't give it a second thought!
I was just happy with the plush, clean bedding.
Sapa isn't always known for being impeccably clean, so if you're particular about hygiene,
I wholeheartedly recommend investing a little more for a pristine accommodation...!!!

Each room has a balcony, so you can step out to instantly check the fog levels
and it's perfect for snapping some amazing photos!!
The sight of the mountains shrouded in mist is absolutely beautiful, and I found it particularly
stunning during sunset.
Price & Booking
One of the best things about hotels in Vietnam is that even 5-star luxury often comes at an incredible value, right?!
With rooms starting around the mid-$100s per night, the price point truly made this
stay even more satisfying!
Because of its popularity, especially during peak season,
make sure to check availability and prices in advance!

The peak season for traveling to Sapa, Vietnam, is from November to March.
So, I compared prices across different platforms for a weekend in December.
If you want to save yourself the hassle, here's a quick comparison!
* Prices for 1 night, 2 adults on Saturday, December 13th
📌 Agoda : ~$139 (Check Prices)
📌Trip.com : ~$157 (Check Prices)
By the way, when I booked, Agoda was the most affordable,
so I booked through Agoda and had absolutely no issues!
A Hotel with a Stunning Pool
La Coupole's pool is famously known as a photo spot, and
once I arrived, I immediately understood why!

It has a very luxurious feel, and it's spacious enough for a proper swim and the depth is just right, so instead of hitting the gym,
I got an amazing workout splashing around here!
This is the pool I mentioned earlier that you can use even without an early check-in,
so I definitely recommend packing a swimsuit.
I even wondered if I should pack a swimsuit for a Hanoi-Sapa trip,
but I'm incredibly glad I did!

After snapping some Instagram-worthy shots, you can kick back on the complimentary sunbeds
and easily order a beer, so if you visit, a trip to this pool is an absolute must!!
A Breakfast Haven
On our last day, with some time to spare before checkout,
we decided to add breakfast, and let me tell you, it was fantastic!

We arrived so early, practically making an 'open run'.. haha!
There were tons of seats and really comfortable chairs.
The interior design by world-renowned master Bill Bensley extends not just to the hotel rooms
but also to the breakfast area, making it incredibly enjoyable to simply soak in the unique aesthetics!

I couldn't capture every single menu item, but I'll show you a few highlights!
There were refreshing drinks and milk perfect for breakfast, and of course...
you can't visit Vietnam without indulging in some authentic Vietnamese coffee, right?!
They even had two types of classic breakfast sausages and...
bacon, so it was easy to get a really satisfying meal!

You could also customize your egg dishes exactly how you liked them, so...
I went for an omelet, and it was absolutely delicious!

And of course, Vietnamese cuisine was prominently featured!
At the Banh Mi station, you could add only the ingredients you wanted,
crafting your very own personalized Banh Mi creation.
And pho? Oh, don't even get me started! A steaming bowl in the morning is just pure bliss.

The bakery selection was so diverse, bread lovers will be absolutely thrilled!

As you'd expect from a hotel popular with Korean travelers,
you can even find Bibimbap in Sapa... how cool is that? Haha!
This makes it an ideal spot for family trips to Sapa, especially!
I've often heard from friends and family that some adults struggle to get used to Vietnamese flavors.

There was even meat available to start the day with a truly hearty meal,
I couldn't resist, and ended up with three plates, including my omelet,
plus a bowl of pho. Talk about a satisfying spread!
I stayed for two nights but only added breakfast for one of them.
However, finding places to eat outside can be surprisingly limited,
so I'd definitely recommend adding breakfast for at least one of your days!
Considering its prime location, gorgeous interior, and even a swimming pool,
the mid ~$110s per night? My satisfaction level was incredibly high!
When I first traveled to Vietnam, I once regretted booking a super cheap '0.5-night' stay...
because the smell and hygiene were just not up to par.
So, whenever I choose a hotel, I now always make sure to prioritize cleanliness and...
a great location, even if it means spending a little extra.
And this place? It absolutely ticked all those boxes for me! Haha.

If you're looking for a hotel with similar priorities to mine,
I hope this inspires you to consider it for your Sapa accommodation! :)
