Our family of five visited Ruby Spa in Sapa for a 45-minute massage. We paid ~$8 per person plus a ~$2 tip. While affordable, the quality was inconsistent. Here's our experience, prices, and tips, plus alternatives like Eden Central and Relax Spa for your next trip.

Wondering where to get a massage in Sapa?
It's a common dilemma, right?
On the second night of our Sapa trip,
my family of five and I enjoyed a 45-minute massage
at Ruby Spa.
To be frank,
the price was affordable,
but the **satisfaction was exactly proportionate to the cost**.
(We paid directly at Ruby Spa.)
01 Why I Chose Ruby Spa for a Sapa Massage

Originally, I had planned to visit one of two massage shops
I'd researched beforehand.
But after a morning of sightseeing
and exploring the night market, I just wanted to relax quickly
at a nearby place.
I couldn't even make a reservation in advance... Sigh.
So, among the nearby massage shops,
I hastily looked up some other blog reviews
and ended up at Ruby Spa.
📌 Ruby Spa
Address: 044 Thạch Sơn, Sa Pa
📍 44 Đ. Thạch Sơn
44 Đ. Thạch Sơn, Sa Pa, Lào Cai 330000 Vietnam
📌
Date & Time of Visit:
Early August 2026, around 9 PM
Number of Visitors: 5
- Walk-in, no reservation

Inside, there's a setup with brown recliner
chairs lined up next to each other.
It's not a private room; we sat next to our companions
for the massage.

02 Ruby Spa: 45-Minute Price and Tips

We chose menu item #5,
the 45-minute Head, Shoulders, Neck, and Foot Course.
I focused on my shoulders, back, and feet;
it's not a full-body course.
According to the menu,
the **45-minute course is 200,000 VND**
(~$8)
If **foot bath is included**,
it's **250,000 VND**.
(~$10)
However, we got the foot bath included
and paid 200,000 VND.
We negotiated a bit on the spot, haha.
✔️ Massage per person
200,000 VND
(at the time, ~$8)
✔️ Tip per person : 50,000 VND (~$2)
✔️ Total for 5 people : 1,250,000 VND
(~$49)
Before you begin, make sure to confirm the areas of focus,
total time, and whether a foot bath is included.
And always negotiate using a calculator to show the price!
(English isn't as widely spoken in Vietnam as you might think ㅠㅠ)

03 What Was Lacking, Despite the Low Price
My assigned masseuse was quite good at providing relief.
However, it didn't quite feel like a professional,
thorough deep tissue massage
(a bit disappointing...).

The young man massaging my dad — almost a student, it seemed?
— looked so incredibly tired that I felt like I should be giving
*him* a massage instead, haha.
In the end, they even switched him out for another masseuse halfway through, haha.

The staff were mostly friendly,
so I even asked them for recommendations
on places to go and got some great suggestions.
(Of course, we chatted using a translator, lol!)
The atmosphere was lovely,
but I wished the massage itself had been a bit more professional.
(In the end, my parents even got another massage at the airport… haha!)
04 Next Time, I'll Choose a Place with Lots of Reviews
Looking back after our trip,
I really wish we had gone to the place I'd originally researched... sigh.
If you only look at the price,
you definitely get what you pay for.
I even had a list of places I originally planned to go,
just like the one below,
but travel really doesn't always go
according to plan, haha.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How much should I tip for a Sapa massage?
We tipped 50,000 dong per person.
After checking other blogs,
it seemed like this was a common amount,
so that's what we decided on, haha.
Q. Can I just go directly to Klook products?
For both places, you need to purchase a voucher
and then make a reservation through the Klook app.
Relax requires a minimum of 3 hours' advance booking,
so if you're planning an evening massage,
it's best to book in the morning for peace of mind.
On public holidays, there might be
additional charges on-site.
