Tomatito Saigon Ho Chi Minh Review: Delicious Tapas & Paella
Experience the vibrant flavors of Spain at Tomatito Saigon, a top-rated tapas bar near Ho Chi Minh's Ben Thanh Market. Enjoy incredible tapas, paella, and cocktails.

Nestled near Ho Chi Minh City's bustling Ben Thanh Market, Tomatito Saigon offers an unforgettable Spanish dining experience. We recently enjoyed a fantastic evening date there, indulging in their incredible tapas, refreshing cocktails, and a sumptuous seafood paella.

From the moment you step inside, Tomatito Saigon captivates with its passionate red decor, instantly transporting you to the heart of Spain. This place isn't just a tapas restaurant; it's an experience, a true ambiance hotspot! Ho Chi Minh City truly shines with its ability to offer not only incredible traditional Vietnamese dishes but also a diverse array of global cuisines, all at surprisingly affordable prices.

The delightful setting, complete with charming individual plates and playful polka-dot table napkins, immediately set a wonderful mood for our Spanish culinary adventure at Tomatito Saigon Tapas Bar.
Tomatito Saigon Menu

Navigating the menu was a breeze, with heart icons clearly marking recommended dishes and leaf icons indicating vegan options. We started by picking out two cocktails before diving into the food selections!

My partner and I are huge tuna lovers, so when we spotted tuna tapas on the menu, we ordered it immediately! It was our first time having tuna since arriving in Vietnam, and it was a delightful surprise.
We went for the Tuna Tartare Cones at 220,000 VND and the Watermelon Avocado Tacos at 180,000 VND.
A great feature here is that while 4 pieces are the standard, you can also order a half portion (2 pieces).
We opted for the full 4 pieces of the Tuna Tartare and 2 pieces of the Watermelon Avocado Tacos.

As a truly authentic Spanish restaurant, Tomatito Saigon also offers premium Iberico Bellota ham in 30g, 60g, and 90g portions, alongside a variety of main courses like paella and steak.
They even have chef-recommended set menus! Interestingly, the Korean translation on the menu incorrectly listed them as 'kids' menus. We only realized later that they were full set menus, offering everything from ham and tapas to main courses and dessert. It's a shame we missed out, as the prices of 1,200,000 VND and 950,000 VND per person seemed quite reasonable for such a comprehensive meal.

My partner's choice was the Pacharan Te Quiero, a delightful cocktail crafted with 'Pacharan,' a plum and sloe berry liqueur from Spain's Basque region, blended with gin and pomelo for a grapefruit-like zest. 'Te Quiero' means 'I love you,' so it's essentially a 'Pacharan, I Love You' cocktail! (Haha)

As a lemon enthusiast, I opted for the Pisco Sour. This creamy yet tangy cocktail features 'Pisco,' a prominent South American brandy, combined with a smooth egg white foam, zesty lemon, and a hint of bitter undertones.

Delicious cocktails, a wonderful date – it made us both dream of a trip to Spain!

The Tuna Tartare Cones were so good, we almost ordered a second round!
These delightful tapas feature crispy, cone-shaped seaweed crackers filled with a delectable tuna tartare and a creamy wasabi cream cheese.

They even added an extra dollop of tuna tartare at the very bottom, just like the best part of an ice cream cone – a clever touch!

Next up were the Watermelon Avocado Tacos.

The marinated watermelon, paired with avocado, offered a unique flavor profile – reminiscent of a tomato and avocado combo, but with a refreshing twist.

After tasting these two, it was clear why Tomatito Saigon proudly calls itself a tapas bar.
Next time, I'm determined to try every single tapas on their menu!

Then came our main event: the Seafood Paella!
Our main dish.

It was loaded with plump, juicy shrimp, clams, mussels, and even tender octopus.
While it was a bit on the salty side for a standalone meal, it made perfect sense. This is definitely the kind of place where you want to pair your food with a Spanish wine, a cold beer, or one of their fantastic cocktails!

Despite saying it was a bit salty, I still scraped every last bit of the crispy bottom, or 'socarrat,' from the paella pan.
That crunchy, caramelized rice is such a delicious treat!

The restaurant's interior echoes the passionate red theme, with tables spaced generously, making it suitable even for larger groups and gatherings.

My only regret from our visit to Tomatito Saigon, this amazing Spanish spot near Ho Chi Minh's Ben Thanh Market, is that we couldn't try more of their menu. The tapas truly lived up to its 'sexy' reputation – absolutely sensational!
It's definitely a place I'd love to revisit often for more tapas, authentic ham, and Spanish wine.
