Pho 2000 is located right in front of Ben Thanh Market.
As a restaurant situated in a hotel lobby, it's notably clean and tidy.
When I visited around lunchtime, there were quite a few people.
However, the turnover rate is quite fast, so there was no waiting.

Another name for Pho 2000 is 'Pho for the President.'
It's said to be the pho served at a dinner when a US President visited Vietnam.

This wasn't my first visit; it was my second time here.
What I truly appreciate is how clean it is, being located in a hotel lobby, which is why I brought my parents along on this trip.
Menu

The menu was more diverse than I expected.
It's divided into small and large sizes,
which you can think of as a regular portion versus an extra-large.
So, we all ordered the regular size.
Beyond pho, there's another delicious item here!
And that's the spring rolls!!!
You get 4 spring rolls for 95,000 VND, which is about ~$3... these are absolutely insane.
Besides that, they also had curry rice, chicken rice, Bun Cha, and more.
Drinks
Beer 35,000 VND - 45,000 VND
(~ $1)
Coconut Juice 49,000 VND
~ $2
Soft Drinks 30,000 VND
~ $1

Pho 2000 offers a truly wide variety of drinks.
Including coconut juice, soft drinks, coffee, and more.

And of course, there's beer!
Beer is in the ~$1 range, which is truly!!!!
So affordable.

Ah, the true charm of Southeast Asia, isn't it? Pouring beer over ice and enjoying that refreshing chill!
At first, you might think it's a bit watered down, but before you know it, you're hooked, lol!
Pho (Rice Noodles)
Regular size 99,000 dong
~ $3

My husband and I ordered the Pho Bo Tai.
This is a pho with slightly rare beef.
I definitely find it most delicious when the beef is added in this scalded-style way.
Typically, when you think of pho in Ho Chi Minh City,
this scalded-style pho is what you get.

My mother-in-law chose the dish with well-done beef.
There are also options for those who might find rare beef a bit much.
And they even have a mix of both types!

My father-in-law went for the chicken pho.
So many choices, right?! Haha.
They have a wide variety of noodle dishes, including meatballs, stir-fried noodles, and vegetarian options.

Cilantro, fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and lime are all served separately,
and from this selection, I highly recommend adding these Vietnamese chilies!
When those spicy Vietnamese chilies hit the clear broth...!!
It creates a refreshingly spicy and invigorating flavor.

Then add the bean sprouts,

And we put in all the available greens.
We're pretty adventurous when it comes to spices, you see, haha.

And what about the cilantro?!!!
We pile it on generously!
I'm a huge cilantro fan, after all! Hehe.
🫶🏻

The broth is incredibly refreshing,
and its beefy base makes it rich and flavorful.
It's definitely on a whole different level of deliciousness compared to what I've had before!
Even those who aren't usually pho fans will fall in love with it!!
This is a video I took on our very first visit to Pho 2000.
It includes a really genuine review, so if you're curious, feel free to check it out :)
Cha Gio (Shrimp & Pork Spring Rolls)
95,000 dong
~ $3

We also ordered an extra serving of the spring rolls, which were absolutely the best thing we tried last time.
Honestly, it makes you wonder if this is their main dish because the spring rolls are absolutely phenomenal.

They're incredibly crispy, yet so juicy and flavorful on the inside because they're packed with filling.
Seriously, I've never had such delicious spring rolls in my entire life...!!
If you ever come here,
I absolutely, positively,
recommend ordering them!!!

So, for 5 people, we ordered 5 drinks and 7 dishes, totaling 874,000 VND.
It came out to about ~$30.
What incredible value for money....!!
Sometimes when I see reviews,
they say it's more expensive than eating at the market.
Or more expensive than street food.
But I think ~$3 for a bowl is definitely worth it.
You get to eat indoors, so it's clean and air-conditioned!!
Wrapping Up
This time, we visited a fantastic restaurant near Ben Thanh Market,
Pho 2000 in Ho Chi Minh's District 1, known for its delicious pho.
A restaurant fit for a president, and indeed...
it's delicious.
It's clean and tidy,
and being able to eat in a cool, comfortable space
is a real plus.
On top of that, every single dish is delicious.
Since it's only about a 2-minute walk from Ben Thanh Market,
it's the perfect Ho Chi Minh restaurant to stop by during your trip.
Be sure to order the spring rolls!!
Seriously, you won't regret it :)
Definitely Planning a Return Visit
