The Garden Phu Quoc Review 2026: Dining Near Mövenpick
Discover The Garden, a charming local restaurant near Mövenpick Phu Quoc. Enjoy tasty banh mi, noodles, and fried rice at great prices, but there's one key thing to know if you're visiting with kids!
When you're staying at Mövenpick for a few days, it feels a bit wasteful to eat all your meals only within the resort, doesn't it?
The food is delicious, but the prices are, well, resort prices, so I really wanted to try eating out for a meal or two.
But then, dragging two kids all the way to Duong Dong felt like too much hassle.
So, the place I found was The Garden, right in front of Mövenpick!
📍 Mövenpick Resort Cam Ranh
Plot D 12 Abc, Cam Lâm, Khánh Hòa 057615 Vietnam
To sum this place up in one line: it's delicious, affordable, and has a great atmosphere,
but it's SO hot lol
If I only think about the food, I'd definitely go again, but remembering that day's heat makes me hesitate a bit.
Still, if you're staying at Mövenpick, it's a great spot for a meal nearby, so let me tell you more about it!
From Mövenpick to The Garden: A Buggy Ride Away!

We took a buggy from Mövenpick towards the resort entrance.
Since The Garden is near Mövenpick's main gate, you don't really need to walk far;
just take a buggy to the entrance.
It seems to vary a bit depending on the driver,
but our driver even took us all the way to the front of The Garden.
So, first, try asking for “The Garden” when you take the buggy,
if not, you can get off at the main gate and walk just a short distance.

And coming back wasn't difficult either.
After eating at The Garden, just come back towards the Mövenpick entrance,
and ask them to call a buggy at the guardhouse-like building.
That's how we got back into the resort. At first,
I thought, "It's easy to take a buggy when going out, but how do we get back in?"
but it was simpler than I expected.
This tip will be helpful for anyone staying at Mövenpick and planning a visit to The Garden!
As soon as I saw the entrance, I thought, "Wow, this place is so pretty!"
When we arrived at The Garden, the entrance alone was just so beautiful~
It was lush and green, with lots of wood and rattan elements,
exactly the kind of Southeast Asian local restaurant vibe I love!!

So, I started taking photos even before going inside.
"Oh, I found a gem here." Up until that point, I was completely satisfied!
But the moment I went in and sat down, I realized something important...
But There's No Air Conditioning!
Here's the real fatal flaw!
There's no air conditioning.
It's a completely open-air, outdoor restaurant.

The photos are lovely, aren't they?
The ambiance is wonderful.
However, the day we went, it was EXTREMELY hot.
Even the kids, who were excited to look around at first,
started getting tired after a little while.

At first, I told myself, "Yes, this is the authentic Southeast Asian experience~"
But after a bit, I was thinking, "When is the food going to arrive...?" haha
For those who handle heat well, it might be fine,
but if you're sensitive to heat like me,
or if you're visiting with young children, you might want to reconsider going in the middle of the day.
It would probably be less hot at night than during the day, but since it's a completely outdoor space, I'd also be a little bit
concerned about bugs.
So if I were to go again, I'd bring mosquito repellent and go when the sun has started to set.
First things first: Bring on the cold drinks!
Since it was so hot, the drinks were more welcome than the food at first!
Mango juice and orange juice for the kids.
And for the adults, naturally, beer.
That day, the beer was truly the best!!

Part of it might have been because of the heat,
Taking a sip of something cool,
I finally felt like I could breathe again.
The kids' faces also brightened up when they each got a juice~
Now if only the food would come out, please ㅜㅜ

We ordered noodles, banh mi, and beef fried rice, and everything was delicious!
We ordered noodles, banh mi, and beef fried rice.
With the kids, we opted for dishes that everyone could enjoy rather than anything too strongly flavored, and this was truly a pleasant surprise!

Everything was delicious!!
Honestly, since it was right in front of the Movenpick, I initially thought of it as just a convenient place to go because it was close by.
But once the food arrived and we tasted it, I was like, “Oh? This place is good!”

I half expected at least one dish to be just "so-so,"
but everything we ordered was great overall!
And then we were surprised by the price again!
We had dinner inside the Movenpick the day before, remember?
Compared to that, The Garden's prices felt incredibly reasonable.
It felt like a quarter of the resort's prices!!

Of course, it might vary by menu,
but for what we ate, it was like, "You get all this for **this** price?!"

If it were just cheap, I might not have been as impressed, but since the food was delicious too, it was even more satisfying.
So, if I only consider the taste and price, I genuinely want to go again!
If you're staying at Movenpick for a few days and find eating every meal at the resort restaurant a bit much,
then stepping out for a meal at The Garden for a day is a great option.
Not having to travel far is the best part.
So, would I go again next time...?
It's a bit tricky~
If I only think about the taste, absolutely.
If I consider the price too, then even more so.
However, if I think about how hot it was that day, I'd probably reconsider.

No air conditioning, completely outdoors, and the kids got tired quickly in the heat.
If you're sensitive to bugs, this might also be a slight concern.
So, if I go next time, I'll definitely avoid the midday heat.
If it's during a slightly cooler time, I'd love to go back.
If you love a local Southeast Asian vibe and aren't overly bothered by the heat, you'll likely be very satisfied. Conversely, if you're someone who thinks, "I absolutely need air conditioning when I eat," then just dine inside the Movenpick, haha!
Still, it was great to have a restaurant like this in front of Movenpick
What I loved about staying at Movenpick was that while you can fully enjoy dining and leisure within the resort, just a short step outside, you'll find local restaurants like this.
One day, we were exhausted from swimming and had dinner inside Movenpick. On another day, we took a buggy out and enjoyed an affordable meal at The Garden!
When traveling with kids, even moving far to find a good restaurant can be a hassle, right?
That's why I was so happy to have dining options like this right near our accommodation!
If you're considering Movenpick Phu Quoc, don't just look at the resort's internal facilities;
also check if there are convenient dining options nearby.
Since we have two kids,
accommodation with short travel distances like this was definitely more convenient.

I've also separately written about everything from the Pool Access Room we stayed in to breakfast, Chocolate Hour, and even a birthday event, so if you're considering Movenpick, take a look and compare!
