And so, another adventure begins with your favorite global explorer, Hyeri! 🌏

We booked a 5-night, 6-day semi-package tour of Turkey,

and since the meeting point was in the Sirkeci area,

we needed to find accommodation in the Old City near the station.

We loved the Hagia Sophia / Blue Mosque views,

the main Old City attractions were incredibly close and within walking distance,

and public transport was convenient, making it easy to get to the New City.

Hotel Exterior/Interior

We arrived at our accommodation after our airport pickup!

It felt like they had contacted the hotel, because as soon as we stepped out of the pickup car,

a bellboy came right over to help us with our luggage.

The bellboy brought our luggage all the way into our room,

so I gave him $1 since I had some on hand!

Apparently, it's customary to tip around 20-50 Lira

for good service.

Our accommodation was located on a small street right in front of Hagia Sophia,

one of the main attractions in the Old City.

While the hotel's interior definitely had some age to it,

you could tell it was well-maintained and clean!

Most of the accommodations we stayed in Turkey

had really tiny elevators 🥹

(and if it's an older hotel, they're even smaller...!)

It was an old-style elevator system where you actually close the door yourself (?).

It's an interesting old-school system, and honestly, a fun experience to try! 🤣

Room Condition

While it wasn't particularly spacious,

it had everything we needed, so it wasn't inconvenient at all.

However, when we unpacked two large suitcases,

the room size did feel quite tight!

There was also a wardrobe, slippers, and a safe.

With water, coffee, tea bags, and an electric kettle available,

we could enjoy Turkey's beloved black tea in the morning.

The shower and toilet were a decent size, so it wasn't inconvenient at all!

While you could tell it had some age,

it felt like it was very well-maintained and clean.

Shampoo, body wash, and soap

were provided as amenities!

What I was most looking forward to:

⭐️ The Long-Awaited Room View ⭐️

It was truly beautiful, with a view of Hagia Sophia right in front of us!!

At night, above Hagia Sophia,

“Lailahe illallah”

(meaning “There is no god but Allah.”)

was illuminated, which was so fascinating that I kept taking pictures!

The downside is that with the daily morning call to prayer

(which starts before sunrise)

we had no choice but to have an involuntary 'miracle morning' 🤣

The Hagia Sophia view is beautiful even during the day 💗

To think I could lie in bed and see this view!!!!

It's absolutely the best 🥹

To the right, although a bit further away,

you can also see the Blue Mosque view!

With Hagia Sophia to the left,

and the Blue Mosque to the right, it's the ultimate view 💗

Just gazing outside brought instant healing and happiness!

Breakfast

I thought breakfast was served on the rooftop,

but unfortunately, it seems they've switched to serving breakfast in the 1st-floor lobby 😭

“Aren't we having breakfast on the rooftop?”

I asked, and they said that the rooftop is currently operating as a restaurant

for lunch and dinner.

But the breakfast quality is truly amazing!!!

First Breakfast

It's not a buffet; once you're seated,

the staff brings breakfast directly to your table.

As soon as I saw it, I thought, "Wow, this looks amazing!"

That was my first impression of the hotel breakfast.

In Turkish style, there were various breads, various cheeses,

along with a selection of

various sauces and fruits/vegetables!

And best of all, it was the only accommodation in Turkey where

they served kaymak 💛

For eggs, you could choose between scrambled or omelet,

and they'd make it fresh for you.

French fries were also served alongside,

making for a truly hearty meal!

For drinks, you could choose between black tea or coffee,

and since I'm not a big coffee fan,

I was able to enjoy tea.

Second Breakfast

The second day was similar,

but they served slightly different sauces and fruits,

and ham was added.

Breakfast was satisfying both days 💛

From the room view to breakfast, with no major downsides,

it was a truly satisfying hotel!

While it might not have the vibe of a brand-new luxury hotel,

I'd highly recommend "The and hotel" to travelers like you who are:

✔ For those seeking a good balance of value, location, and essential amenities
