Tempo by Hilton Times Square Review: Rooms, Breakfast, Location
Considering Tempo by Hilton Times Square for your 2026 NYC adventure? Get an honest review of its prime location, clean king rooms, and breakfast choices. Find out if it's your ideal stay!

When I was choosing a hotel for my trip to New York City, the two things at the top of my list were location and room condition.
Let’s be real, NYC hotel rates can be pretty steep, and the last thing I wanted was to spend a fortune only to end up in an outdated room.
That’s why I ultimately decided on the Tempo by Hilton New York Times Square.

After my stay, I can confirm that while the rooms aren't huge, its unbeatable Times Square location and pristine condition make it a worthwhile splurge, especially if it’s your first time visiting NYC. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself!
Looking at prices again for 2026, a King Room with free cancellation is currently around ~$552. If you've got a New York trip planned, I'd suggest snagging this room early!
1. Location, Location, Location!
Honestly, the location was even more satisfying than the room itself! It truly made my NYC experience so much smoother.

The address is 1568 Broadway, and it’s literally right next to Times Square. You can easily walk to Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall, and Bryant Park is only about 0.4 miles away. I ended up walking almost everywhere!

Plus, the subway is super close, making it incredibly convenient to explore Manhattan and then easily head back to the hotel.
As of 2026, check-in is at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM.

2. My King Room Experience

I stayed in a standard room with one King bed.
True to New York hotel standards, the room isn't expansive. If you try to spread out two large suitcases simultaneously, it might feel a bit cramped.
However, the furniture is arranged so efficiently that it felt perfectly comfortable for two people.

What I loved most was how exceptionally clean and new both the room and bathroom felt. The bedding was comfortable, there was an espresso machine, and overall, I didn't experience any significant discomfort during my downtime in the room.
3. Room Recommendations

As I’m checking prices for 2026, the standard King Room immediately catches my eye.
A King Room with free cancellation is currently around ~$552.
A high-floor City View King Room is about ~$594, making the difference roughly ~$41.

If a view isn't your top priority from the start, I’d definitely opt for the standard King Room. On the other hand, if you’re set on experiencing a full Times Square view, a high-floor Times Square view room starts from around ~$847. In that case, you might consider booking a view room for just one night to get that iconic experience.

Also, if you're traveling with a friend and need separate beds, rooms with two Queen beds are currently upwards of ~$730, which is a significant price jump. So, if you’re a couple or don't mind sharing a bed, the standard King Room is currently the most practical and budget-friendly option.

4. Breakfast & Packages
Breakfast at Tempo isn't a buffet; it's an à la carte system where you order your preferred dishes.
Menu items include avocado toast, breakfast burritos, scrambled eggs, and salmon bagels. Main breakfast dishes were typically around USD 16-20 each.

Currently, a standard room without breakfast is about ~$604, while including breakfast brings it to ~$670. That's a difference of about ~$66.
Considering that for two people, this difference adds up, I wouldn't automatically opt for the breakfast-included package.

New York has countless fantastic places to grab breakfast outside the hotel, and you can always order individual items from the hotel's breakfast menu if you wish.
So, I preferred to book a room-only rate and then, if I was curious about the hotel breakfast, I’d just pay for it separately on one particular morning.
5. Final Thoughts

If I were to visit New York again, Tempo by Hilton would definitely be on my radar.
Even though the rooms aren't massive, the prime Times Square location, immaculate rooms, and modern, fresh feel of the hotel truly stood out.

If I were booking now for 2026, I'd set aside any view aspirations and secure a King Room with free cancellation, starting from around ~$547.
Then, I'd make sure to apply any available coupons (like a 7% off deal) and compare prices with other sites to ensure I'm getting the best deal with a price match guarantee.

For first-time visitors to New York who want to be right in the heart of Times Square, I highly recommend starting your hotel search by comparing the standard King Room options at Tempo by Hilton.
