Delta Air Lines Direct Flight Review: New York to Orlando

From Korea, reaching Orlando, home to Disney World,
there are no direct flights, so you connect in places like New York or Atlanta.
I chose to connect, and since my destination was Disney World,
I made my connection in New York!
For flights from New York to Orlando (MCO),
JetBlue, American Air, United, and Delta
are among the options available, but I chose Delta!

1. Comparing New York's 3 Airports |
New York has three airports.
They are JFK / EWR (Newark) / LGA (LaGuardia)!

📍 Manhattan
Manhattan, New York, NY, USA
📍 John F. Kennedy International Airport
JFK International Airport, New York, NY 11430, USA
📍 Newark Liberty International Airport
Newark, New Jersey 07114, USA
📍 LaGuardia Airport, New York
East Elmhurst, New York 11371, USA

Airport | Uber to Manhattan | Public Transport |
JFK | 50 min ~ | Subway - LIRR |
LGA | 30 min ~ | Bus - Q70 |
EWR | 40 min ~ | NJ Transit from NY Penn Station |
JFK and Newark are accessible by rail,
while LaGuardia can be reached by bus or car
to get to the airport.
The Q70 bus to LaGuardia Airport
is free, making it the cheapest option among the three airports.

Why I Chose LGA
1) Closest to Manhattan.
2) Earliest departure, so Uber fare was cheapest.
Since I planned to travel by Uber, it was the most
convenient, and at the time I booked, the flight ticket was also
affordable, and it was even Delta, a full-service carrier (FSC)!
2. Delta Air Lines Orlando Schedule |

Why I Chose Delta Air Lines |
1. Earn Korean Air SkyPass miles |
2. Free baggage for Morning Calm members |
3. Excellent compensation for cancellations or delays |
4. Most routes departing from LGA |
Plus, when it comes to compensation for cancellations or delays within the US,
no airline handles it as well as Delta.

LGA - MCO (approx. 2 hours 54 minutes) | |
Morning Departures | 07:00 ~ 09:54 08:10 ~ 10:59 10:59 ~ 13:54 |
Afternoon/Evening Departures | 12:29 ~ 15:22 13:54 ~ 16:47 15:45 ~ 18:46 17:50 ~ 20:44 19:59 ~ 10:55 |
With 8 Orlando routes a day, even if my flight
gets delayed, they're great at arranging alternative flights,
so honestly, there's no reason not to choose Delta.
3. Delta Air Lines Booking & Baggage |
I've booked US domestic flights through 'Trip.com'
more than 5 times already!

The reason is, for foreign airlines,
when booking on their official websites, you often have to sign up for membership,
and the payment process can be quite cumbersome.
(Plus, installment payments aren't possible, only lump-sum.)
When I book through Trip.com, I just provide my passport information
and they issue my ticket immediately, which is so convenient.
Plus, they even let me earn Korean Air SkyPass miles!

And this time, there was a '3% discount (up to ~$9)'
coupon, so I was able to book for a bit less.

Carry-on | 1 personal item Carry-on bag under 114cm linear |
Checked | Under 23kg Check weight rather than size |

Most airlines in the US, especially for domestic flights,
charge a fee per piece of luggage, but Delta
charges $45 per bag. (Morning Calm members get one bag free)
For your information, US budget airlines' baggage
rules are quite strict, so you might end up paying more.
However, Delta tends to be more generous with 'baggage',
and this was also highly rated, which is why I booked them!
4. Check-in and Boarding Review |
At LaGuardia Airport, Delta Air Lines is in Terminal C!

Check-in is available at the 'kiosk'!
Just scan your passport, check your information, then attach the baggage
tag and drop off your checked baggage!

After confirming your baggage has been loaded,
and a quick security check, you can head to your gate!
For LaGuardia Airport, even arriving just 1 hour and 30 minutes before
was enough time to get around really comfortably.
For JFK, you should definitely arrive 2 hours prior.

One of Delta Air Lines' perks is that they offer free Wi-Fi to passengers,
so even during the flight,
I could comfortably use the internet!

Also, the seat pitch was really generous! And even though it was a short-haul flight,
I got to fly on an A330-900 neo,
and since it's a new aircraft model, the cabin was super clean!!
This particular model hasn't been introduced in Korea yet,
so I flew it for the first time in the US, and honestly,
among all A330 models, it was definitely the best!

Even on domestic short-haul flights, they offer drink and snack service,
and also provide a simple snack service even before departure.

You can also get a souvenir,
you can even take a photo with the pilot,
or if you ask for a 'trading card', you can get one of these
beautiful cards as a souvenir!

On this New York - Florida trip, I only flew Delta.
I flew them twice and they were incredibly friendly. Honestly, when it comes to US
airlines, I think I'll only fly Delta from now on!
Even if you're not going to Orlando, if you haven't booked your US domestic flight yet,
I highly recommend 'Delta Air Lines'!

I even know an acquaintance who lost their wallet
and *received free baggage allowance* from them.
That's how generous they are, or so I've heard!
Most importantly, since it's a major airline, there are plenty of alternative flights,
and with basic in-flight services like free Wi-Fi, my perception of
US airlines has changed by 200%... for the better!
