New York Los Tacos Menu Recommendations, How to Order, and Review of the Times Square Location
@ New York, USA
Hello, Global Explorers!
I'm Minisbob, your world travel blogger.
If you're looking for a quick and delicious bite while exploring New York, tacos are an absolute must!
On this trip, I ventured to
a spot highly recommended by locals and
frequently mentioned as a must-visit for anyone traveling to New York these days:
LOS TACOS No.1.

I loved it so much after my first taste that
I ended up visiting twice during my trip!
Today, I'll be sharing a comprehensive guide based on what I personally tried:
how to order at Los Tacos, my top menu recommendations, and an honest review.

1. New York Los Tacos Times Square Location: Essential Info and Wait Times
📍 LOS TACOS No.1
229 W 43rd St, New York, NY 10036, USA
Los Tacos Times Square: Essential Information | |
Address | 229 W 43rd St, New York, NY 10036 |
Opening Hours | Mon-Sat: 11 AM - Midnight Sun: 11 AM - 10 PM |
Budget | Per Person: ~$10-~$20 |
The location I visited was
the **Los Tacos Times Square branch**.
It's in an area you'll likely pass through often during your New York adventures,
making it a perfect spot for a quick bite while sightseeing.
You can order tacos one by one, which is fantastic if you're not super hungry and just want a snack,
or if you want to try a variety and discover your personal favorites.
I loved my first visit so much that I came back for a second helping during my trip!

Perhaps because I visited during off-peak hours both times, the wait wasn't terribly long.
First visit:
About a 15-minute wait to order
Second visit:
About a 5-minute wait to order
Their turnover is quite efficient, so the line moves quickly. However,
seating space is limited, so finding a spot to enjoy your tacos might involve a slight wait!
2. Los Tacos Menu and How to Order
When you first step in, the menu might seem a bit daunting with all the English and Spanish names.
But trust me, ordering is simpler than you think!

1. First, choose your desired menu items, pay at the counter, and receive your order slip.
Choose your meat:
Carne Asada = Beef
Pollo Asado = Chicken
Adobada = Pork
Nopal = Cactus
Choose Taco or Tostada
Select your drink
Example:
1 Asada Taco, 1 Pollo Asado Tostada,
1 Mexican Coke, please.
If you order like this, you'll get an order slip.

2. Head over to the chef on the left, hand them your order slip,
and then choose your tortilla and toppings.
Choose your tortilla:
Corn or Flour Tortilla
Choose your toppings:
onion / cilantro / salsa / guacamole
If you're open to everything, just say 'Everything.'
If you have any toppings you don't like, like cilantro or onions, simply ask them to omit it.
If you can't stand cilantro, you can say, 'No cilantro, please' when ordering.

Then, they'll whip it up for you right before your eyes!

3. My Top Picks from Los Tacos
On my first visit,
I ordered two ASADA tacos and one ADOBADA TOSTADA,
along with one Mexican Coke.
Total: $24.28

ASADA tacos feature delicious beef.
With the meat, onions, and cilantro piled high,
the flavors blended perfectly with every bite.
And the
ADOBADA TOSTADA I ordered alongside
was characterized by its satisfying crunch.
It wasn't that it wasn't tasty,
but personally, I found the tacos,
wrapped in soft tortillas, more delicious than the tostada.
So, on my second visit,
I decided to order only tacos, trying different varieties.
During my second visit,
I ordered one of each: an ASADA taco, a POLLO ASADO taco,
and an ADOBADA taco,
and enjoyed another Mexican Coke.
Total: $23.95

Trying all three at once made my preferences even clearer.
Personally, the most delicious item on the menu
was the POLLO ASADO chicken taco!
While the beef tacos were also tasty,
the chicken was lean yet full of a wonderful grilled aroma,
which perfectly suited my palate.
If you're visiting for the first time,
I recommend ordering a variety of tacos, one of each,
to compare and find your favorite!
4. The Sauce and Topping Bar at Los Tacos
On one side of Los Tacos, you'll find
a dedicated corner with sauces
and vegetable toppings you can add to your tacos.

There were two types of chili sauce,
and while both were quite spicy,
in my experience, the green sauce was spicier.
The red sauce was also spicier than I expected,
so if you're not good with spicy food,
I recommend adding it little by little.
You can also add as many vegetable toppings as you like,
so I loaded mine up with plenty of onions and other veggies.

Adding the crisp texture and spicy sauce
made it much more delicious than just eating the tacos plain.
Taste the sauces a little at a time,
and add vegetable toppings to your heart's content –
I highly recommend trying it this way!

5. Meal Complete! My Honest Review

Los Tacos in New York was a great spot
for a casual, no-fuss meal.
I was so satisfied that I went back for a second visit after my first!

Personally, I enjoyed the tacos more than the tostadas,
and among them, the chicken taco was my absolute favorite.
If you're near Times Square
and looking for a quick and tasty New York eat,
I suggest choosing a few tacos at Los Tacos
and comparing them to find your perfect bite!
