Bada-ui Achim Taean Pension Review 2026: Unlimited BBQ for Families
Planning a family trip to Taean? Our stay at Bada-ui Achim Pension offered cozy comfort and incredible unlimited BBQ, making for a truly relaxing and delicious coastal escape!

Our journey began under a rather overcast sky, hinting at snow, but as we pulled into Taean, the clouds parted, revealing a beautifully clear expanse above! It had been too long since our last family getaway, and this time, we brought our little one along for the adventure.

We chose Bada-ui Achim Pension in Taean, a place renowned for its incredible unlimited BBQ, where all you pay is a charcoal fee!

Despite the chilly weather outside, the owners had thoughtfully pre-heated our room, so stepping inside felt like a warm embrace. It was incredibly cozy and inviting.

Even the smaller room was wonderfully warm, and lying on the heated floor felt so heavenly, I honestly didn't want to get up!

The living room offered easy access to the outside patio. If only the weather had been a bit warmer, we might have enjoyed our BBQ right there or snacked outdoors. Still, the view from inside was so serene and relaxing. A short stroll straight ahead led us to the beach, which was beautifully tranquil – a perfect escape.

And to keep us entertained, the pension was equipped with Netflix and YouTube, so there was never a dull moment.
The owners also kindly prepared a lovely breakfast for us, which was waiting conveniently near the TV.

Upon check-in, we simply let them know our preferred BBQ time, and when we arrived, everything was perfectly set up for us.
I was especially touched by their thoughtfulness in providing a baby high chair, making dining with our little one so much easier.

The BBQ charcoal fee was only ~$29, and for that, we got unlimited raw meat, marinated meat, ssamjang (Korean dipping sauce), scallion salad, kimchi, and various fresh vegetables. Seriously, what a deal!
These days, even a regular unlimited BBQ restaurant charges around ~$15 per person. For our group of five adults (excluding the baby), getting all this for just ~$29 total felt like hitting the jackpot!
I'd often seen these kinds of unlimited BBQ pensions featured on popular Korean travel shows and always wanted to try one. Bada-ui Achim Pension was exactly that kind of place, and I was absolutely thrilled to experience it firsthand!

They even provided a delicious doenjang-jjigae (fermented soybean paste stew) and a generous portion of rice. Everything was so incredibly tasty that I regretted not being able to eat more due to my second pregnancy's morning sickness. The quality of the raw meat, in particular, was fantastic – thick and juicy, perfect for wrapping in lettuce (ssam)!
I even brought some coffee to enjoy in the morning, but I slept in too late and missed it! What a shame, haha.
Normally, when you plan a pension trip, you have to lug along all sorts of groceries – lettuce, pickled radish wraps, meat, vegetables, and more. And then you worry about buying too much of things like chili peppers that some people might not like, leading to waste.
But at Bada-ui Achim Pension, everything was already prepared for us, including the doenjang-jjigae and rice. It truly was a hassle-free and relaxing trip.

Our little one sat happily in the high chair, watching Mom and Dad get everything ready.

The basic spread was already there, but we grabbed a few more essentials and started our BBQ! The charcoal fire was strong, and the mushrooms were incredibly delicious. I'm already craving that meat again!

Even though I can't drink alcohol, I found some Asahi non-alcoholic beer and decided to make a toast to celebrate our fun getaway!
Since it was a weekday right after a holiday, there weren't many other guests, so we had the whole BBQ area to ourselves. It made the experience even more enjoyable and fun.
After finishing our BBQ, we headed back to our room, played some games with our baby, and then settled in for a relaxing second round with snacks, leftover drinks, and TV. We had such a wonderful and restful stay.

It was so convenient not having to carry much luggage, which made cleanup easy and our bodies light – we had a fantastic, carefree time.
