Sunset Town Night Market Phu Quoc Review 2026
Skip the chaotic Duong Dong streets. Phu Quoc's Sunset Town Night Market offers a trendy, artistic vibe with seaside fireworks. Here is what to expect!
A Trendy New Nightlife Hub
Phu Quoc has no shortage of incredible spots to explore. From the wild safaris and VinWonders in the north, to the bustling Duong Dong and Sonasea in the central area, down to the Mediterranean-inspired Sunset Town and the Hon Thom Cable Car in the south, your itinerary can easily overflow. But when the sun goes down, there is one experience you simply cannot skip: the local night markets.
For years, the chaotic and energetic Duong Dong Night Market was the undisputed king, with Sonasea's food street trailing as a more laid-back alternative. However, the game completely changed with the launch of the Sunset Town Night Market (also known as Vui Fest Bazaar). This modern addition has created an exciting new rivalry, offering a completely fresh vibe for travelers exploring the southern coast of the island.

A Modern Seaside Market
Having opened its doors on 12/21/2023, Vui Fest Bazaar has quickly established itself as a must-visit spot in southern Phu Quoc. Unlike the older markets, this one feels incredibly clean, organized, and beautifully integrated with the surrounding ocean views.
One of the absolute highlights of visiting this area is the nightly fireworks show. I was torn between heading to Duong Dong or staying south for the fireworks, and almost missed it while lounging in my hotel room! Fortunately, I made a last-minute run for it and caught the spectacular display on the way.

Hoping time would stand still until I arrived!
The fireworks kick off at 9:30 PM. It is a short, dazzling 5-minute show, so timing is everything. Realizing I wouldn't make it to a prime viewing spot in time, I hopped off my ride midway to enjoy the view right from the street.
My Grab bike driver was so incredibly friendly—instead of just dropping me off and leaving, he parked his bike, walked over, and started recording the fireworks right next to me. It was one of those wholesome, authentic local interactions that makes traveling in Vietnam so memorable!
The European Charm of Sunset Town

Even if you aren't visiting specifically for the night market, Sunset Town is an absolute masterpiece. It offers a completely different aesthetic compared to Grand World in the north, channeling romantic European coastal villages with pastel-colored facades and winding stone pathways.

The town has evolved beautifully over the last couple of years, with more boutique cafes, art installations, and gorgeous coastal lookouts opening up.

The evening atmosphere here is incredibly romantic and highly photogenic.

You can also spot the vibrant blue lights from the iconic "Kiss of the Sea" show (previously known as Kiss the Stars). It is a massive multimedia water show that I definitely plan on booking for my next visit to the island. If you are looking to book local tours, look out for travel passes that bundle show tickets with discounts at local spots like King Kong Mart, spas, and cafes.
How to Find the Entrance

As you approach Sunset Town, the main entrance to the night market is highly visible on the right side. However, because I was so distracted trying to catch the fireworks from the back of my Grab bike, I initially missed it. From the road, some areas behind it still looked under development, so I assumed it was just another construction site.

If you look closely near the entrance gates, there are multilingual signs guiding you in. Since I tried to navigate from deep within the town center rather than using the main entrance, I ended up getting a bit lost in the winding streets!

Because it is a newer development and located in the southern part of the island, it is much less crowded and chaotic than Duong Dong. For travelers staying at luxury resorts in the south (like the JW Marriott or Premier Residences), having a high-quality night market nearby is an absolute game-changer.

The vibe here is incredibly distinct. While Duong Dong feels like a traditional, raw local market, Sunset Town Night Market feels like a curated, artistic bazaar. The food stalls are clean, the layout is spacious, and the ocean breeze keeps the temperature perfect.

They even host lively street performances and live music acts along the main strip. It adds a wonderful festival atmosphere that elevates the entire dining and shopping experience.
While I took a Grab ride to get here, many nearby resorts offer convenient shuttle services. Just keep in mind that the last shuttle usually departs around 10:00 PM, which coincides with the final street performances. If you prefer to stay later, there are always plenty of taxis and Grab drivers waiting near the main entrance. For a clean, modern, and scenic night market experience, Sunset Town's Vui Fest Bazaar is an absolute must-visit.
