Solaniwa Onsen Osaka Review: Best Baths & Access
Looking for the perfect way to unwind in Osaka? Read our Solaniwa Onsen review to find out how to access this massive hot spring theme park near USJ.
Solaniwa Onsen
Since it's winter,
and the weather is quite chilly,
I decided to visit the hot springs
which my parents absolutely love.
It's super easy to get here
by train from downtown Osaka—
just 15 minutes from Namba!
Take Exit 2A-2B at Bentencho Station,
and Solaniwa Onsen is just a 5-minute walk away.
This place features natural hot spring water
sourced from 1,000 meters underground.
Known as "Bihada-no-Yu" (beautiful skin water) with mild alkalinity,
it features hot baths,
saunas,
an outdoor foot bath,
restaurants,
an arcade,
and massage rooms.
It's basically a massive
hot spring theme park!

Location
📍 Solaniwa Onsen
1 Chome-2-3 Benten, Minato Ward, Osaka, 552-0007, Japan
It's really close to Universal Studios Japan—
only about a 15-minute ride away.
After walking all day
and wearing yourself out,
this is the perfect place
to recharge your batteries.

Buying tickets at the door
can mean long lines
and waiting,
plus the walk-in prices
are more expensive,
so it's highly recommended to book in advance.
It's also a fantastic
rainy-day alternative!
Price & Booking

These are the standard walk-in prices,
but we booked in advance on Klook for 5 adults and 2 kids
and paid
a total of ~$72!
Prices vary depending on the season and date.
We went on a Thursday,
and while there were quite a few people,
arriving right at opening time
let us enjoy it
with a bit more peace and quiet.

The admission ticket gives you access to 9 hot spring baths,
the 5th-floor outdoor foot bath garden,
and the rest of the theme park area.
The bedrock bath (sauna) fee
is not included in the standard ticket,
but you can easily add it on for an extra charge.

As soon as you walk in,
there's a locker room area.
You put your shoes away and get a shoe locker key.
Then you get another locker key for the changing room where you slip into your Yukata,
and you'll use a third key for the 5th-floor bath area.
That's a total of 3
keys to manage!
Your shoe locker key
is used to track all your spending inside,
which you pay off
Pay everything all at once!
When you arrive
at the entrance,
just show the QR code
from your booking,
and they'll guide you through the process.
There's a bath tax of 150 yen (~$1) per person.
You can pay this upfront,
or settle it when you leave
along with all your other expenses
at the end.
The Layout & Flow

The layout can be a bit confusing at first, but here is how it works:
First, grab your locker key at the entrance.
All 7 of us got our keys registered.
Next, choose your favorite yukata,
head to the respective men's/women's locker rooms to put away your things,
and change into your yukata.
Now, you can enjoy the Hoi An-style lantern photo spots,
restaurants, arcade games, doctor fish spa, and more!
After having some fun,
cross the scenic bridge photo spot
and take the elevator up to the 5th floor.
That's where you'll find the separate men's and women's baths,
and right next to them
is the 5th-floor rooftop garden foot bath!
So, it's not a direct loop where you wash
and change straight back into your yukata.
Keep that flow in mind!
Also, if you head out next to the 2nd-floor hot stone spa
and go up to the 3rd floor, you'll find a manga library
and a relaxation lounge.
Choosing Your Yukata
The very first step is choosing your yukata!

They have styles for men, women,
and even cute ones for kids (kodomo yukata).
After picking one out,
choose a matching sash (obi),
and head to the locker room to change.
They only give you one towel at the start,
but since there are plenty of extra towels in the bathhouse,
it's best to grab one from there
to use after your outdoor rooftop foot bath!
It's super convenient.
Locker Rooms & Changing Areas
Once you change into your yukata,
there's a powder room where you can check the mirror
and make sure your sash is perfectly tied
before heading out!

If you have tattoos,
they sell cover-up stickers here.
As long as they're well covered, you're good to go!
2nd Floor Photo Spots
They've set up a gorgeous photo spot
reminiscent of Hoi An's famous lanterns!

I took some photos here
with my nieces, nephews, and husband.
Arcade & Gashapon (Toy Capsules)

Since we had the kids with us, we spent a lot of time
at the arcade, trying out the doctor fish,
and playing the tin-can toss game!
We did so much,
but we charged everything to a single locker key—
my shoe locker key represented all 7 of us
to keep tracking simple!

Dining Area
From udon, ramen, and pasta to sweet desserts,
and even alcoholic drinks!
The vending machines are stocked with strawberry milk, coffee milk, and regular milk,
plus there’s a cozy cafe where you can enjoy
a fantastic variety of treats!

Just past the dining area,
you’ll find a picturesque bridge photo spot!
Make sure to snap a quick photo here. 📸

Head up to the 5th floor, and as soon as you step out,
you can head straight from the bathhouse
to the outdoor foot bath.
The Bathhouse
There are about 9 different
baths to choose from!
Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are all fully provided.

5th Floor Outdoor Foot Bath
With your feet soaking in the warm water,
and the cool, refreshing air on your face,
watching the planes fly overhead
made for such a
magical and special moment. ✨

There are spots like this too!
Private Hot Spring Rooms
What’s really unique is that
they offer private rooms where you can enjoy a 90-minute soak
all to yourself!
It costs ~$54.

A perfect winter escape
that everyone should experience
at least once in their lives—
this was the incredible Solaniwa Onsen!
