Interior
The space was surprisingly larger than I expected.
There were quite a few people dining solo, which is common in these types of eateries.

The bright midday light made getting good photos a bit challenging...

It steadily got busier as we ate.
Since gukbap is a quick meal, the table turnover is pretty fast.
I wouldn't describe the service as overly friendly, but that's often the case in these traditional, no-frills gukbap spots!
Kimchi and Kkakdugi
Unfortunately, the kimchi and kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) were a bit disappointing...
They just didn't quite live up to the quality of the gukbap itself.

Menu
Menu Board

The menu was simple and concise, which gave off a vibe of confidence and pride in their signature dishes – we respect that!
Most diners seemed to be ordering either the Andong Gukbap or the Jangteo Gukbap, and since we were there for gukbap, we followed suit.
Here's what we ordered:
Two Spicy Andong Gukbap
One Jang Gukbap

Being gukbap, it didn't take long for our order to arrive after we placed it.
It came out piping hot and bubbling!

Andong Gukbap (Spicy) & Jangteo Gukbap (Mild) Comparison
You could tell the spicy version was fiery just by looking at it!
The spicy gukbap was genuinely hot enough to make you sweat.
The beef in the spicy Andong Gukbap was more flavorful and tender. The meat in the Jangteo Gukbap, on the other hand, was a bit chewier.

Jang Gukbap
We ordered this for the kids, and they happily ate the meat and broth.
All those years of introducing them to *ppyeo-haejang-guk* (spicy pork bone soup) definitely paid off!

It was generously packed with ingredients, including plenty of *siraegi* (dried radish greens) and a good amount of beef.

However, it was a bit too salty for the kids, so we added some water to dilute it and let it cool down a bit before they ate it.
Andong Gukbap (Spicy)
The spicy version definitely delivered on its promise of heat! It was intense enough that those with a lower spice tolerance (like me!) might struggle – it's spicier than Shin Ramyun.
This is the kind of hearty gukbap that's a perfect pick-me-up, especially after a long day or even a night out (my husband absolutely loved it!)

The vibrant red color, almost like it's infused with chili oil, clearly signals its spiciness.
I found myself sweating as I enjoyed it!
The beef, combined with the *siraegi*, was incredibly tender and delicious.
However,
it was a bit salty for my personal preference. But adding some water and mixing in my rice made it perfectly balanced.

Good to know: If you find it too salty, they offer extra beef bone broth to dilute it!
(I only discovered this after my visit, wish I knew sooner!)
Despite the minor saltiness, the flavor was excellent, and it's definitely a reliable gukbap spot. We even grabbed some to-go for my aunt's family!
We made this stop after visiting Wave Park in Siheung.
The 'Andong Gukbap (Spicy)' is hot enough to make you sweat, spicier than Shin Ramyun. It's a flavor that drinkers would enjoy, and it's reddish, as if chili oil has been added.
The meat in the 'Andong Gukbap (Spicy)' was reportedly tastier and more tender. In contrast, the meat in the 'Jangteo Gukbap' received feedback that it was tough.
Yes, if you mention that the gukbap is too salty, you can receive additional beef bone broth. The writer reported that adding water and mixing it with rice made it taste fine.
The 'Jang Gukbap' had plenty of ingredients, including rich dried radish greens and meat. However, it was quite salty for children, so water was added, and it was also very hot.
