Seven-Eleven Japan's New Custard Apple Pie Review 2026

This is an honest review of a product I bought myself.

Hey there, fellow foodies!

Today, I'm back with another piping hot review of a brand-new release!

Seven-Eleven in Japan recently rolled out a whole new line of apple-themed desserts.

Now, I'm usually just 'meh' about plain apples, but apple desserts? That's a different story! Especially apple pie – I'm a huge fan! Haha!

Coincidentally, there were two types of apple pies among the new releases, and today I'm diving into the Custard Apple Pie.

As you can tell, the name is quite long! Haha! The packaging looks like this. When I stopped by, there were only two left, and with that 'recommended' sticker, it seems this new item is quite popular!

It cost 360 JPY, which converts to approximately ~$3. While prices in Japan have been on the rise lately, ~$3 for a convenience store dessert isn't exactly cheap, is it?

Here it is, unwrapped! You can already see the flaky layers of pastry and the apple filling peeking out from the center.

Cut it in half, and behold! A generous layer of apple filling sits at the bottom, topped with creamy custard. The pastry is thin, allowing the fillings to truly shine.

Oh my goodness............ Seriously!!!

What IS this?!

That ~$3 price tag? Absolutely worth it!

I'd happily pay ~$3 for this again!

Apple desserts never disappoint, and this one is no exception! Haha!

It's incredibly delicious!

The pastry is wonderfully crisp, and the combination of the apple filling and custard cream is just perfect.

It tastes less like a convenience store treat and more like something from a high-end bakery!

If you're planning a trip to Japan anytime soon, you absolutely HAVE to try the Custard Apple Pie at Seven-Eleven!

Since it's a new and incredibly tasty item, it tends to sell out fast. So, if you spot it in a store, grab it immediately – you know the drill!
