We arrived quite late the night before, so this was our first proper look at the lobby. Embracing the 'town-as-a-hotel' concept, SEKAI Hotel's lobby maintains the original facade of the old storefront, with only the interior thoughtfully remodeled.

Kintaro Pan is the bakery right next to Fuji Cafe. After enjoying such delicious toast for breakfast, how could we resist popping in?

This isn't a chain bakery; it's a cozy, neighborhood spot with a real local charm. Most of their breads were priced around ~$1-2, which felt incredibly reasonable compared to bread prices back home. We had a tough time choosing with so many affordable and delicious-looking options!

You don't often find breads like this back in the States, do you? We indulged in a beautiful fruit bread, generously topped with cream and fresh fruit, as our dessert. Pure bliss! ♥️

3. Exploring Fuse Station Shopping Street: An Authentic Osaka Experience

With our bellies full from breakfast and a sweet treat from the bakery, it was time to really dive into exploring the Fuse Station shopping street.

We spotted a fun shop called 'Citizen's Friend, Cheap!!' And let me tell you, the vegetable and fruit stand on the right was unbelievably affordable. Cherries were just around $1 – I regretted not buying them throughout the rest of our trip!

If you ever visit, make sure to head to the shopping street early on your first day to grab some amazing deals! ⭐⭐

It's a stark contrast to the bustling Shinsaibashi Arcade, isn't it? We absolutely reveled in the relaxed pace, soaking in the genuine Japanese atmosphere of this quiet Osaka neighborhood. 🥰

You can also receive a ticket for a local public bath near SEKAI Hotel when you check in (depending on your booking option). However, the day we checked out, a Wednesday, was their regular closing day ㅠ_ㅠ. I was really looking forward to experiencing a traditional Japanese neighborhood bath, too!

But our food adventure wasn't over yet! The map provided by SEKAI Hotel highlighted various snacks available on the shopping street. Even if we couldn't hit an izakaya, there was no way we were leaving without some takoyaki!

So, we headed to a spot called Maruko Suisan.

Can you believe how much green onion they piled on? It was absolutely delicious. Honestly, it was even better than the takoyaki we had the next day in Dotonbori – they were far more generous with the toppings and the texture was fantastic.
