Section Cafe Hwaseong Review 2026: Brunch, Bakery & Evening Beers

Whenever I'm looking for a spacious cafe

to visit in Hwaseong's Namyang area,

there's a spot I often find myself at.

And that's Cafe Section.

I loved this place so much that

my husband and I have visited it on quiet weekdays,

and also on bustling weekends.

Every time I go, the atmosphere is so unique

and impressive.

It definitely has a different vibe

from your typical large bakery cafe.

It's not just a place where you quickly grab

some bread and coffee and leave;

instead, it's fun to explore every corner of the space,

almost like you're viewing a media art exhibition.

During the day, it's perfect for enjoying brunch and pastries,

and in the evening, it's ideal for leisurely staying

and having a casual beer. It's truly a perfect spot for relaxation.

From a driver's perspective,

parking is often the most stressful part when visiting a large cafe.

If a place is large but has cramped parking,

you're already exhausted before even entering.

But here, there's a spacious dedicated parking lot

right in front of the building,

so even when I visited during peak weekend hours,

I could easily park without any hassle, which was incredibly convenient.

Once you arrive and see the building,

its exterior immediately stands out.

The entire facade shimmers in silver,

reflecting the surrounding forest and sky like a mirror.

The first time I went,

I felt like I had arrived at a gallery or an exhibition hall,

exuding such a sophisticated vibe.

2. Menu

One of the reasons I frequently visit Section

is the surprisingly reasonable menu prices for a large cafe.

Usually, when I go to other large brunch cafes in Hwaseong,

perhaps due to the "seat premium",

just a few pastries and two drinks can easily exceed

the price of a full meal, which often felt burdensome.

But here, a Jambon Beurre Rice Baguette is ~$7,

Caesar Salad is ~$7,

and pasta dishes are around ~$11,

so I felt the value for money was excellent.

That day, for our meal and dessert, we chose

the Jambon Beurre Baguette, Chocolate Croissant,

and Kouign-amann.

For drinks, we ordered an Iced Americano and a Strawberry Smoothie.

The bakery lineup was so diverse,

from savory meal breads to sweet baked goods,

that my eyes were practically spinning around in my head, haha!

What's more, when I looked at the menu,

I noticed they also sell beer in addition to coffee.

I imagined how amazing the atmosphere would be, enjoying a beer outdoors on the terrace when the weather is nice,

with that 'ya-jang' (outdoor street food stall) vibe.

So, my husband and I decided we definitely need to come back for dinner next time,

and leave the car at home! :)

3. Interior Atmosphere

The biggest charm of Section is

its spatial design, which, just like the cafe's name,

features completely distinct concepts from A to D.

It definitely feels differentiated from typical large cafes

that simply cram tables into one open space.

Section A, which you encounter upon entering,

is the ordering area with the bakery display and counter.

There were so many types of bread that

I lost track of how long I spent browsing, haha!

The place I personally loved the most was

Section B.

Underneath the subtly dimmed lighting,

the laser media art flowed gently,

and unlike the usual noisy atmosphere of a large, crowded cafe,

it was calmer with less of that characteristic buzz.

It was absolutely perfect for my husband and me to have a quiet chat.

Section C

is decorated with a futuristic garden vibe,

and it's generally brighter with excellent group seating.

Families and groups who came to visit

were comfortably seated there.

And the innermost Section D

is practically a small-scale media art exhibition in itself!

Lasers move in sync with magnificent music,

and it's quite beautiful and spectacular,

so many people were there, capturing its beauty.

4. Food Review

Among the items we ordered that day, the most satisfying was

undoubtedly the Jambon Beurre Baguette.

The baguette was quite large,

so even after my husband and I shared half each,

we still felt perfectly full.

The exterior of the baguette was crispy, and the inside was delightfully chewy,

with generous slices of savory jambon ham and

rich, nutty butter generously sandwiched inside.

It wasn't dry at all, making it a perfect meal on its own.

Among the sweet desserts,

the chocolate croissant was absolutely my favorite.

When I sliced it in half, it was bursting with chocolate filling,

but it wasn't an overpowering, cloying sweetness;

instead, it harmonized beautifully with the rich, buttery flavor of the croissant,

so I enjoyed every single bite without getting tired of it! Haha.

The Kouign-amann, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a delightful sweetness,

was also a fantastic pairing with coffee.

The Iced Americano

had a clean, crisp style with a hint of acidity,

which perfectly cut through the sweetness of the desserts,

creating a wonderful balance.

What was especially delicious beyond my expectations

was the Strawberry Smoothie!

Usually, when I order a smoothie at a cafe,

I often regret it because the artificial syrup flavor is too strong.

But here, with every sip,

I could actually taste real strawberry pulp, making it incredibly fresh and rich,

and it was perfect to enjoy with our pastries.

This isn't just a cafe that looks fancy on the outside;

it's a place where the basics of bread and drinks are exceptionally solid! Haha.

5. Recommendation

If you're looking for a spacious cafe near Hwaseong Namyang

with convenient parking and a truly unique atmosphere,

I'd recommend this place first and foremost.

It offers more than just a simple coffee chat;

you can also enjoy captivating media art attractions,

so you'll find yourself losing track of time here.

With its spacious layout and diverse seating options,

it's perfect for a weekend drive with your parents

or a delightful outing with children.

If you're a couple looking for a quiet and atmospheric

date spot,

I recommend finding a seat in Section B or D.

Among Hwaseong's large cafes, if you want to enjoy delicious bakery items and brunch,

along with the artistic ambiance of an exhibition, all in one place,

definitely visit Cafe Section.

It's also a place where you can fully enjoy the charming vibe of evening outdoor beers,

so I'm planning to revisit during the evening soon! :)
