Dongtan Lake Park Playground Renovation 2026: Parking & Map

We've got some fantastic news for families exploring South Korea!

The beloved playground near the

Dongtan Lake Park Eoullim Center,

a favorite spot for kids, has finally completed its extensive renovation.

Earlier this year, in Spring 2026, we saw the old structures being removed and eagerly anticipated what amazing new space would emerge.

Just recently, we discovered it's been completely transformed into a sparkling new playground!

Navigating Dongtan Lake Park's main parking tower and then walking with little ones might be a bit of a trek.

For convenience, we highly recommend parking comfortably at the nearby Eoullim Center and enjoying an easy walk.

Even on weekdays, you get a generous 2 hours and 30 minutes of free parking,

which is more than enough time for kids to enjoy the playground and for a leisurely stroll.

Best of all, parking is completely free on weekends,

so you can relax and enjoy your visit without any worries.

Dongtan Lake Park Sand Playground's New Look

The first thing you'll notice is the

completely revamped multi-play structure.

It's significantly larger than before, catching your eye from a distance.

The increased height of the play equipment means older kids will find it much more engaging too.

Kids' favorite, the slide, has been upgraded from a simple straight one to a

long, winding tube slide.

Two seesaws have been installed,

so no more long waits for a turn!

We were a bit worried the swings might disappear during the remodel, but luckily,

they've been neatly reinstalled with brand new ones!

However,

the sand play area's facilities are a bit simpler than before.

With three compact play structures, it seems perfectly suited for toddlers and younger children to enjoy some delightful sensory play,

rather than older kids.

Little ones will love developing their fine motor skills with charming sand play!

One small tip, and a minor drawback, is that sand play is always more fun with a little water to make those perfect sandcastles, plus it's handy for washing hands afterward.

However, even after the renovation,

we didn't spot any nearby water fountains or faucet facilities.

So, if you're bringing a sand play kit, consider packing a small bottle of water from home to enhance your child's experience!

Don't Miss a Stroll Along Songbangcheon Stream!

After all that playground fun, it would be a shame to head straight home, wouldn't it?

Make sure to take a leisurely stroll along the Songbangcheon Stream path, located right in front of the playground!

While the main Dongtan Lake Park area can get quite bustling on weekends,

this stream path is mostly frequented by locals, offering a wonderfully peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.

It's a hidden gem with a serene and refreshing charm, distinct from the main lake park.

Let the kids burn off some energy at the playground, then enjoy a calming walk along Songbangcheon, pushing a stroller and feeling the gentle breeze – it's a perfect little healing moment for parents too.
